General Hospital Spoilers: Portia Demands Trina Stop Working For Ava, Daughter Rebels?

General Hospital: Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) and Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla)
General Hospital (GH) spoilers suggest that Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) may have a difficult choice facing her in the very near future. As GH fans who have been keeping up with the show know by now, Portia recently met with Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and had a little heart-to-heart.

While dining at the Metro Court, GH viewers will recall that Portia had a brief, frustrating spat with her daughter Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla). Trina believed her mom was totally overreacting in her behavior. The younger Robinson felt Portia was just too controlling and wanted her to lighten up and keep things normal.

General Hospital Spoilers – Portia Robinson And Carly Corinthos Discuss

Portia, on the other hand, felt that “normal” after Trina’s kidnapping is entirely impossible. When Carly showed up suggested that Trina go visit Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) at the Corinthos home, the young woman jumped at the opportunity. At this point, Trina apparently feels smothered by Portia and any chance to maintain a semblance of independence is welcome.

Her departure opened up the door for Carly and Portia to discuss the fears that Portia’s got running around inside her. Interestingly enough, those don’t seem to be about the danger to her daughter’s life. (Considering that her Trina’s friend is the daughter of a mobster who has guards surrounding his estate 24/7, GH fans may agree that it’s okay to question Portia’s judgment just a bit.)

With that said, apparently Portia’s fears revolve around what seems to be an obsession with Ava Jerome (Maura West). She confesses to Carly that she’s always allowed Trina to have a great deal of freedom, and for the two of them, it’s always worked out well. She’s proud of Trina, especially because she views her as hard-working and level headed.

GH Spoilers – Trinia Robinson Is Responsible

Because of how responsible Portia views Trina to be, she originally didn’t have any problem when her daughter came to her about an internship at Ava’s art gallery. Portia conceded to Carly that this was despite the fact that Trina’s passions were not her own. Now, according to Portia, “She’s spending more and more time over there. Everything is Ava this, Ava that. I don’t like it!”

Carly then admitted that she doesn’t blame Portia for her feelings. Portia then ranted about how she didn’t like anything she’s read about Ava Jerome and she didn’t want Trina emulating the art dealer. In fact, she confided that she really didn’t want Trina to be around Ava or have anything to do with her!

Of course, Carly hates Ava. Because of that hatred, she was quick to validate Portia’s concerns. However, she also cautioned Portia that it would be a mistake to ban Trina from Ava’s presence or her art gallery outright. Obviously, Portia doesn’t want to alienate Trina and spark an insurrection at home, right? Carly detailed how her own failed attempts to give Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) an ultimatum backfired. If Portia came down on Trina with a heavy hand, Carly felt the same thing could happen with Portia’s daughter.

General Hospital Spoilers – Sympathy For Portia Robinson

General Hospital Spoilers -viewers who are parents may find themselves sympathizing with Portia. After all, no one wants to see his or her child associating with someone who is known to have an unsavory character. Likewise, no one wants their kids charmed into thinking someone is amazing when everyone knows that the individual has a monstrous past. Portia may just be (rightly) trying to watch out for Trina the way any responsible mother should.

On the other hand, some GH fans have been rubbed the wrong way by Trina’s mom ever since she first made an appearance. Instead of genuine concern for Trina’s safety, she seems to be obsessed with Ava. Some have pointed out that it actually looks like she’s jealous of Trina’s affections. After all, she did remind Ava that she, and not Ava, was Trina’s mother.

Unless someone is jealous, who makes a point of saying something like that?

As events move forward it will be interesting to see if Portia takes Carly’s advice, or if she’ll take measures to remove Ava from Trina’s life for good! Stick with the ABC soap, and don’t forget to check Soap Opera Spy often for the latest General Hospital spoilers, updates, and news!
