DOOL spoilers reveal that Eli is conflicted and upset about the entire situation. Even though he understands why Lani helped Kristen, she also vowed to uphold the law. Archey explained to Soap Opera Digest,

“In Eli’s mind, this could have been avoided if Lani had been a law-abiding citizen and acted like the cop that she is. He’s definitely not happy about it at all and it’s also something that he didn’t expect.”

Even though the crime that Kristen must answer for is stabbing Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston), Trask has a personal vendetta. When Kristen was told that her baby died, she grabbed and shook Haley Chen (Thia Megia). She ended up tumbling down the hospital stairs to her death and Trask wants justice for her daughter.

Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that Trask really puts Eli in a tough spot. He has to make a choice and he decides that the only thing he can do is what Trask wants. He is determined to protect his wife, keep her from being prosecuted and he certainly doesn’t want his twins being born in prison. So, he secretly records Kristen confessing to the crime and plans on handing it over to the DA.

DOOL Spoilers – Will ‘Elani’ Survive?

Even though we don’t know if Eli will actually give the tape to Trask or what happens to Kristen, “Elani” will most likely get through this. They endured way too much pain and sacrifice during the past year. Eli and Lani somehow found their way back into each other’s arms despite Gabi Hernandez DiMera’s (Camila Banus) exploding pacemaker scheme. They even survived Vivian Alamain (Louise Sorel) threatening to kill Lani on their wedding day.

So, we are sure that they will find a way to survive this, too. In the end, Lani is going to learn that Eli didn’t have a choice. He had to save Lani, even if that meant losing her forever.
