General Hospital Star Elizabeth Hendrickson Confirms Margaux Dawson’s Exit –Is This A Final Goodbye?

General Hospital (GH) star Elizabeth Hendrickson confirmed her exit from the ABC soap opera. The buzz on social media said do double duty and she would play Margaux Dawson on GH and Chloe Mitchell on Y&R.  Many viewers wondered how she would be able to pull that off. Well, the answer came this morning when Hendrickson confirmed that she was exiting General Hospital and would be moving on to something else.

“It was an incredible year at @generalhospitalabc playing Margaux. Thanks to all my new friends, It was truly one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. On to the next! ??,” Elizabeth posted to Instagram.

This week on GH, Margaux revealed that she wished to resign her position as the D.A. of Port Charles. That was after Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) pointed out that her DoD pledge was the only one missing.  He asked her what was in that was so important that she made sure it was never found.

Of course, she didn’t answer, so the details on her pledge are somewhat of a mystery. Many GH fans believe they know what was in it, but with the recent disappearing act, it was never confirmed.

Margaux has gone to great lengths to protect Shiloh Archer (Coby Ryan McLaughlin) from getting in trouble with law enforcement. However, after he drugged Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco), Margaux’s hands were tied.  Instead of being part of it and build a case against him, she decided to quit her job.

What’s Next For Elizabeth Hendrickson?

A few weeks ago, Elizabeth posted a picture of herself with Greg Rikaart (Kevin Fisher, Y&R) with the caption that there’s more to come.  She tagged Kevin Fisher and Chloe Mitchell, a clear indication she was announcing a Y&R return for them both.

There is the speculation that Chloe shot Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), so her return could be about that.  Whatever it is, many Y&R fans are excited about her return.  And, what’s more, there are rumors that Elizabeth signed a contract with Young and the Restless, so she could be back for a long while.

As for Margaux, it sounds like Elizabeth is out on General Hospital, but it is possible that GH will decide to recast the role down the road. Are you going to miss Margaux?
