General Hospital Spoilers: Mike’s Condition Worsens – Sonny Forced To Make A Tough Decision

General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Mike Corbin (Max Gail) will soon experience some devastating changes. He’s been struggling with memory loss, confusion, and general declines due to Alzheimer’s Disease for a while now. Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) has been struggling right along with him, and it’s been a hardship on the whole Corinthos clan.

Sonny and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) have been by Mike’s side throughout the whole ordeal, and it was a big step when they decided to have Mike attend a day program at Turning Woods, a memory care facility for people with Alzheimer’s. Mike really had to convince them to let him attend the program because Sonny and Carly didn’t want to feel like they were sending Mike away.

As it turns out, Mike is really enjoying his time at Turning Woods, and he’s even made a good friend there…Yvonne Godfrey (Janet Hubert). After a bit of conflict with Yvonne’s husband Marcus Godfrey (Nigel Gibbs), things have worked out and Mike has been thriving at Turning Woods during the days.

But soon, Mike will experience some changes for the worse. GH spoilers indicate that his condition with deteriorates. Perhaps his memory difficulties will worsen and become more frequent. Or perhaps he’ll experience more bouts of anger and confusion when he can’t remember Sonny or his other family members.

Whatever the case, things are going to go downhill for Mike, and fast. And that means that Sonny will be faced with another big decision…what to do with Mike now. If Mike is experiencing frequent memory problems and confusion, then he may be better served to be in a facility full-time rather than just during the days.

Sonny may be faced with the decision to put Mike into Turning Woods as a full-time, round-the-clock patient. Of course, this will be a decision that will torment Sonny. He’s never wanted to send his dad the message that he’s sending him away because he’s a burden and/or difficult to care for.

Perhaps Mike will have some moments of lucidity when he can help Sonny with the decision. Mike may decide that he really wants to live at Turning Woods full-time, especially if his condition is starting to decline fast. Carly will surely weigh in as well and help Sonny through the decision-making process.

Of course, there could be some pushback from Marcus if he finds out that Sonny is considering putting Mike in Turning Woods as a full-time resident. Marcus may not want Mike living at the facility with Yvonne, and this could cause some conflict down the road.
