General Hospital Spoilers: Chloe Lanier Talks About Returning To General Hospital

General Hospital spoilers tease that Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) will soon be making an appearance in Port Charles once again, and Chloe will once again reprise her role as the sneaky, smarmy manipulator and birth mother of Jonah Corinthos (Eric and Theodore) who most of Port Charles thinks is Wiley-Cooper Jones, adopted son of Lucas Jones (Ryan Carnes) and Brad Cooper (Parry Shen)!

While Nelle will be making a confirmed appearance soon, there has been nothing revealed by showrunners as to how long Nelle will return this time, or if she will ever return permanently. In an interview with Chris Eades of ABC Soaps in Depth, Chloe opens up about her return to the soap

.According to Chloe, General Hospital has told her the door is always open, but she has no idea of any storyline twists to come (other than what she likely has already filmed, since GH films ahead by a few weeks) regarding the Wiley/Jonah baby swap. She says she’s completely in the dark about that!

General Hospital Spoilers: Nelle Benson Will Still Hold Power Over People In Port Charles

However, Chloe likes the fact that even when Nelle is offscreen and either in Pentonville or Ferncliff, she still holds power over so many people in Port Charles because of the baby swap secret! General Hospital fans have expressed frustration that this storyline has gone on so long without the truth being revealed and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) getting his baby, thought to have died, back while all the time he’s been alive and somewhat accessible to Michael as his godson Wiley Cooper-Jones!

As General Hospital viewers will recall, this storyline has gone on nearly a year, with Nelle setting up what she thought would be a fatal car crash which would kill Michael but didn’t know her ex-lover Detective Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) and Michael were working together to make the trap for Nelle, rather than for Michael!

As a result, the car did not explode and a very pregnant Nelle became very nervous and left the scene after she struggled with Michael over the wheel so the car would crash. It was minor, and Chase and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) were near to rescue Michael.

Nelle, meanwhile kept walking down the country road and went into labor, and a fugitive Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) came along and delivered the baby; then, as Nelle walked off with her healthy newborn son, Brad coincidentally drove down the same road with the original Wiley, who sadly died of crib death the day he was born. Brad stopped to pick Nelle and baby Jonah up and thus the baby swap began.

General Hospital Spoilers: Chloe Lanier Was Glad To Leave The Show When She Did

Chloe admits that she was kind of glad that she left the show when she did, because her own identity was getting a little bit wrapped up in Nelle’s subconsciously, and notes that she and her boyfriend have been keeping busy writing together (she didn’t say what kind of writing, scripts or a book or what) and she’s been doing a lot of auditioning in between General Hospital appearances.
