General Hospital Rumor: Did Ava Put Up A FAKE Helena Portrait?

General Hospital Spoilers - Ava Jerome (Maura West)

General Hospital spoilers tease that Ava Jerome (Maura West), with the cooperation and help of her partner in revenge, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) may have put up a FAKE portrait of Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers) in Monday, December 16th’s episode of General Hospital and rigged it to self-destruct!

General Hospital Spoilers – Was That A Lightning Bolt From Helena Cassadine Or Was The Portrait Rigged?

General Hospital viewers might think that the portrait exploding right after Laura Collins (Genie Francis) made the winning bid for the portrait might have been a lightning bolt from Helena in the great beyond, the timing was so impeccable! Although the portrait was put in the auction for the general public, as a rescued J. Garrin painting, viewers noted that the only ones who bid were Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) and Laura, and one other unnamed man. Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) was distracted away from the auction by a phone call from Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) who had broken into the art gallery’s storage room from the back alley, and was waiting to get a chance to swipe the portrait.

As he was bidding, Nina came out and stopped him and took him out of the showroom, where the auction was going on, and told him not to bid on it, and probably told him that the portrait that was on display was faked and rigged to explode!

GH Spoilers – Oil Paintings On Canvas Do Not Burn The Way That Portrait Did

Port Charles has police, but don’t seem to have a lot of fireman. Any fireman and especially an arson investigator would be able to tell that was not a oil on canvas painting, or even an acrylic on canvas painting by the way it burned after it ignited! The entire piece would burn, and paint would start melting and running down, not just the whole painting melting and sliding off the canvas the way that painting did! It slid off suspiciously like a wrapping paper type of material, which shows that it may have been a print on a canvas backing on poster paper! The backing didn’t even ignite, which shows it must have been fireproofed in some way.

General Hospital Previews For Tuesday, December 17th Show The Aftermath

General Hospital previews for Tuesday, December 17th show the aftermath from this little fiasco; Valentin thinks he has now won, and brags as he says that now the painting is gone along with all its secrets, which means he thinks the codicil must have been in the portrait’s encoded clues painted into it by the artist. No codicil, no problem!

But in the final scenes of Monday’s episode, viewers could see Jax smiling, Laura shocked and Nina, standing behind Valentin, smiling with a sly look on her face towards someone, possibly Jax or Ava. Nina knew something Valentin and Laura didn’t! Then in the preview, Ava is the one with the sly look and the smile on her face, asking someone, “You don’t think I’d do that, do you?!” Meanwhile, Nikolas is caught like a rat in a trap by Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) who not so politely asks him who he is and what is he doing in there!

GH Spoilers – It’s Obvious Ava Jerome Put A Clever Fake Up For Auction

It’s obvious that Ava put a clever fake up for auction and the first clue to Valentin, Laura and Jax should have been that it was removed from its frame! Laura may have been concerned about it not being in its frame when she asked Jax if he thought Ava knew about the codicil, since it may have been either behind the real portrait in the frame, flat, or possibly even rolled up tightly and inside the frame itself.

Ava could have rigged it to explode, as member of a mob family she may have known how herself or called on an old contact to set it up. Trina’s done some mischief in the past, she may have even done it since it was not supposed to hurt anyone, just destroy the print!
