Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: Are Belle And Shawn Responsible For Claire’s Mental State?

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: Are Belle And Shawn Responsible For Claire's Mental State?Days of Our Lives spoilers tease that a guilt ridden Belle Black Brady (Martha Madison) and Shawn-Douglas Brady (Brandon Beemer) will try to console their daughter Claire Brady (Olivia Rose Keegan) in Wednesday’s episode of Days of Our Lives.

They will have learned that Claire has not been doing so well without them living on her own in Salem, while they have been so far away from her, living overseas. Claire may not only be facing criminal charges which will be serious, but may face time in a mental institution for the criminally insane – the latter of which will probably be more appropriate.

Belle is an attorney and Claire’s paternal grandmother, Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) is of course a psychiatrist, so swinging an insanity defense probably won’t be too difficult.

Days of Our Lives Spoilers – Belle And Shawn Shocked By Claire’s Behavior

Of course Shawn and Belle will be in shock when they hear the whole truth of what Claire has done and of her mental state; by the time Belle gets to Salem, Claire will be sedated and in the hospital, although whether she will be in Salem University Hospital or admitted straight into Bayview is a question.

A serious form of psychosis has undoubtedly been a factor in Claire’s behavior, and schizophrenia is a possible factor; Claire seems to be suffering some delusions, because no matter how loved ones have tried to get through to her, she only believes what she believes to be true even if things are proven otherwise. She told Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal) when she had her captive, in Monday’s episode, that she felt like “someone else” was taking her over when she lit the fires and she couldn’t control it happening.

Days of Our Lives Spoilers – Should Claire’s Parents Have Spotted The Warning Signs?

As her parents, Shawn and Belle may feel responsible for not seeing signs of problems in her earlier, but Marlena will undoubtedly tell them not to blame themselves, because Claire’s problems are not caused by nurture or lack of it, but rather psychotic forms of mental illness.

Sometimes these illnesses do not develop gradually but afflict a sufferer suddenly and without warning, although stressors and triggers in the unconscious can be a factor. They will be there when Claire becomes conscious and comes out of the sedation and console and comfort her as much as they can, which is the appropriate thing to do.
