The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Ravi and Ashley Are Refreshing – Chemistry Plus Comedy

Ravi (Abhi Sinha) and Ashley (Eileen Davidson) agreed to have a dinner date on ‘The Young and the Restless’. While their Top of the Tower feast didn’t turn out to be romantic, the circumstances that played out merely added to the delicious aroma that is wafting from this engaging relationship.

Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) was on a mission to see what Billy (Jason Thompson) was up to. He texted her, but oddly didn’t respond to Phyllis’ question about having broken the ‘Philly’ news to Victoria (Amelia Heinle). So she butted into ‘Rashley’s’ conversation at Jabot and invited herself to what was intended as a romantic event.

Comedy is one of many fine elements that co-executive producer and head writer Sally Sussman has injected into Genoa City since she and her team’s first episode aired in December. Great soap balances drama with humor, as tenured fans of the genre know.

The quirky connection that’s deepening between Ashley and Ravi can be traced to the previous writing regime’s creation of Dr. Simon Neville (played by the great Michael E. Knight from 2015-2016). That relationship offered a fresh personal situation for Ashley to begin exploring, while also allowing the range of Davidson’s talent to be spotlighted.

Sinha’s addition to the cast has been terrific. His poor soul character was instantly recognizable as a hidden prince who needed a nudge. Phyllis kindly offered to help in that regard, as Ravi appeared to have forgotten during the night in question.

Ravi’s lack of experience with women easily allowed Phyllis to overlook his statement that she pay her portion of the dinner bill that was tallied. Later, after Phyllis left the table, Lily (Christel Khalil) introduced Juliet (Laur Allen) to Ravi. However, Juliet’s offer of a coffee date was instantly dismissed.

Ashley generously told Ravi that he should take Juliet out. Ravi again asserted that he was solely interested in Miss Abbott, which likely elicited smiles from audience members who value good writing in daytime.
