‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Open Mic Night Great For Reed’s Ego – Victoria Must Hear Timeless Melody

'The Young and the Restless' Spoilers: Open Mic Night Great For Reed's Ego – Victoria Must Hear Timeless MelodyParents are facing far different issues on ‘The Young and the Restless’ than were seen years ago. All parents know that’s true in reality as well. That’s why Reed’s (Tristan Lake Leabu) impulse to attend The Underground’s Open Mic Night might work to his benefit in the long-term. Because this young man’s desire to express his talent isn’t trending, it’s timeless.

Vickie (Amelia Heinle) is a good soul. This compassionate woman truly loves her two biological children and feels the same about the boy, Johnny (Holden and Ryan Hare), she adopted. Unlike Katie (Sienna Mercuri) and the character the twins play, Reed is a teenager. And with that comes a whole lot of drama, both real, exaggerated and imagined.

So Reed arrives on his mom’s doorstep, as escorted by a police officer on New Year’s Eve. The last sentence was started with the word ‘so’ because that’s how many millennials begin their verbal statements in the modern world. These young people, and older humans who try to imitate them, appear to lead with that adverb because of thought formation.

Miss Newman was managing her two toddlers rather well until Reed appeared. Unexpectedly. He’s proved to be a rather normal young man who likes girls his own age, plays his guitar (loudly) and is computer savvy.

Vickie’s Rules For Grounding isn’t a book title. Instead it was somewhat of a, but not a complete overreaction to Reed’s recent behavior. Yes, he would benefit by having regular contact with a strong, consistent male figure. Sorry new-agers, that’s history talking.

Currently, Billy (Jason Thompson) and Victor (Eric Braeden) are his two top options. But his mom would rather not have her son be too influenced by her ex-husband and his ex-step dad.

Cousin Noah’s (Robert Adamson) suggestion that Reed play at Open Mic Night was reasonable. It afforded the obviously talented musician and singer a chance to perform publicly, while also being supported by family members in a safe environment.

Mom won’t react kindly to her son’s intentional misreading of her plea to pursue happiness when he can. However, Vickie will come around to the fact that Reed is channeling his talent in a positive direction and has the potential to be a professional performer. So, love and parental pride are in order? Uh, huh.
