‘The Young And The Restless’ News: Y&R Recast – Daniel Hall Joins Cast As Lauren’s Son Scott Grainger

‘The Young and the Restless’ spoilers include news that Lauren Fenmore’s [Tracey E. Bregman] son Scott Grainger is returning to Genoa City. Daniel Hall has been recast to portray Lauren’s oldest child.

It has been a decade since Scott has been to Genoa City to see Lauren and Michael Baldwin [Christian LeBlanc]. Soap Opera Digest reports exclusively that Daniel is already taping scenes but TPTB are keeping any details about storyline and first air date very quiet.

‘Y&R’ spoilers previously revealed that Fenmore’s is in dire financial straits and if Lauren doesn’t get a bail out soon she will lose the empire that her father Neil Fenmore [Jim Storm] built. Lauren has made the agonizing choice to align Fenmore’s with Jabot after two investors passed.

Enter Scott Grainger, Lauren’s son with Dr. Scott Grainger [Peter Barton]. Scotty, as he was known in his younger years, spent most of his life at boarding schools and wasn’t seen again until 2005. That’s when Scott, who had been attending college in Toronto, returned for Lauren and Michael’s wedding.

Scott’s stay was short-lived and he returned to Toronto to continue his studies in 2006.

Though TPTB at ‘The Young and the Restless’ aren’t releasing any details about Scott Grainger’s return, fans will figure out quickly that his storyline must include helping Lauren keep control of Fenmore’s by discovering that Gloria Bardwell [Judith Chapman] is feeding Jack Abbott information about everything Lauren is doing to save her company.

Of course, Scott could be a potential love interest for many women in Genoa City. Mariah Copeland [Camryn Grimes] has gone without a serious relationship since arriving in town.

If Scott wants information on what Jack is dong at Jabot, there’s an opportunity for Lauren’s son to romance Abby Newman [Melissa Ordway]. While trying to weasel information out of Abby the two potentially fall in love.

Chelsea Newman’s [Melissa Claire Egan] romantic possibilities are slim now that she and Nick Newman [Joshua Morrow] are just friends. The very handsome Scott wouldn’t have a problem sweeping the widow off her feet.
