The Young And The Restless Alum Miles Gaston Villanueva Gets A New Job
Miles Gaston Villanueva left The Young and the Restless (Y&R) in 2016 and has been pretty busy with prime-time roles ever since. His newest role could take his career to a place he never imagined. Villanueva was cast as Lyle Menendez in Law & Order True Crime limited series and the reviews say that Miles gives a brilliant performance.
Miles left Y&R in 2016
Villanueva played Luca Santori for three years. He was escorted to prison after he admitted to Summer Newman (Hunter King) he sabotaged the oil rig. The truth was, he was abruptly written out of the soap opera after he joined the cast of Jane the Virgin. He went on to appear on The Fosters and Rosewood. It’s safe to assume that his Y&R role took his career to the next level.
The series will retell the Menendez double murder in a way that no other show has done before. They will answer the biggest question everyone has asked. It’s not what the brother did. We all know what they did. It is why they did. Why they felt like they had no other choice but to murder their parents in such a brutal way. Edie Falco said, in the promo, that the why they did it, was the right question to be asking.
Miles will be playing the role of Lye Menendez. Gus Halper will play Erik. Edie Falco (Sopranos) plays their defense attorney, Leslie Abramson. Anthony Edwards (ER) plays Judge Stanley Weisberg, the judge who oversaw the case.
The NBC series will air eight episodes as Law & Order explores the case. They ask the controversial questions and answers why the brothers almost walked after brutally murdering their parents. It goes deep into the boys’ childhood and the child abuse allegations.
The double murder case that captivated the nation will open again on NBC Tuesday, September 26. Watch the trailer and share your opinion in the comments below.
