Although up on total viewership, when it comes to women 18-49 Y&R and B&B fall short compared to last year at this time.  GH is up a bit but Days of Our Lives makes a drastic leap, as it has done in all categories this week including women 25-54.

There is no doubt that the upcoming departure of Jordi Vilasuso, who portrays Dario Hernandez on DOOL shortly after he conned Abigail Deveraux (Marci Miller) into divorcing Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) and into a quickie marriage to him; along with the drugging of half of Salem, resulting in the death of Deimos Kiriakis (Vincent Irizarry) played a huge role in the ratings’ jump of the NBC soap opera.

DAYS OF OUR LIVES

DOOL ratings for the week of July 10-14 drew in 2,085,000 which is 40,000 more than the week prior.  Unfortunately, even though the show drew in more than last week, it still ties low for several weeks in a row.  Fan can be sure the ratings will jump even higher with the much anticipated return of Alison Sweeney (Samantha “Sami” Brady) and Chandler Massey (Will Horton).

GENERAL HOSPITAL

GH drew in 2,410,000 which is down over 43,000 since the previous week and lost viewership of over 170,000 from a year ago; but it’s ratings have increased by 3,000 in women 18-49.  The storylines the week of July 10-14 were mostly about Samantha Morgan (Kelly Monaco) and her descent into the depths of her mind.  Joss Jacks (Eden McCoy) continues to rebel as Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) attempts to stand by his word and exit the mob life.

THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL

Although the total viewership for B&B is 3,460,000 it is down 96,000 from last week; also dropping among women 18-49 with -27,000 gone from the previous week.  Not even the return of Caroline Spencer (Linsey Godfrey) could bring up the ratings.  Maybe fans are thoroughly invested with Thomas Forrester (Pierson Fode) and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope), thrilled that Thomas is making a life with someone who hasn’t been married to his father or cousin.

THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS

In total viewership, Y&R also gained 20,000, making their numbers jump to 4,478,000 but they also took a hit when women between 18-49 dropped by 31,000 from the previous week.  Its a bit of surprise here as this was the week, Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard) learns he is the supposed father of Juliet Helton’s (Laur Allen) unborn baby.  Maybe fans are telling the powers that be not to mess with beloved super couple Cane and Lily (Christel Khalil).
