The Queen Vic has been Walford’s go-to watering hole and neighborhood meeting place for just over 30 years. But ever since Mad Max was sprung from jail and returned to town at Christmastime, an ominous threat has hung in the air.

Max is bent on getting revenging on the people behind his false imprisonment. He was sent up the river for killing Lucy Beale, alas, a crime he didn’t commit. Max isn’t the forgive and forget type, but he hasn’t let on about his sinister maneuverings. He has a partner in crime, and this week the two affirmed their destructive plans for Walford.

The duplicitous duo have circled September as their secret development start date. Included in their scorched earth plan is the destruction of the pharmacy and the much-used launderette. Max is working to get control of the community center as well, but he’s set his sights first and foremost on the neighborhood pub.

To this end he’s placed operatives throughout the town, including a lackey inside of the Vic. It’s even possible that Carmel Kazemi is doing Max’s bidding, albeit without her knowing it! He’s a sneaky one, that Max! But Max’s boss wants things to move along more quickly, something he brought up in their most recent conversation. In defense of himself, Max had the nerve to use his evil manipulations of his family as an excuse!

But this time around, Max may be unnerved to discover that he’s not the baddest man on the block. Will his boss stoop low enough to threaten Max’s family if he doesn’t get in line? Max is concerned when his boss points his daughter Lauren out in the street, and then orders him to work faster on getting the Queen Vic!
