‘Days of Our Lives’ News: DOOL Alum William Christopher Dead at 84Soap Opera Spy regrets to report yet another passing of a long-time soap favorite. Actor, William Christopher has died at the age of 84. Christopher was famous in his role on ‘Days of our Lives’ in the role of Father Tobias. He aired scenes in 2012.




Christopher is also known for his roles in the TV series “MASH” where he played Father Mulcahy back in 1972 through 1983. We have learned that Christopher died peacefully at his home in Pasadena, California on December 31st, 2016 after he finally lost the battle to Lung Cancer.

William Christopher graduated from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut and later on spent his time in New York City where he appeared in several Broadway productions before moving into Hollywood seeking work in television and daytime. William Christopher was survived by his wife, Barbara, with whom he married back in 1957.

Christopher has two adopted sons, John and Ned. His wife, Barbara also appeared on “MASH” back in 1975 episode of “Dear Mildred”, where she performed several hits alongside her husband William. In addition, Christopher did PSA’s in support of the National Autistic Society where he helped in raising awareness for the condition.

A fellow friend of William Christopher’s, took to twitter recently to express his admiration for his late friend and co-worker. Alan Alda sent out a heartfelt message recently on twitter to his fans stating “His pals from #MASH miss Bill powerfully. His kind strength, his grace and gentle humor weren’t acted. They were bill. #williamchristopher”.

Obviously, William is a gentle soul that will most definitely be missed by so many friends, family and even fans of this beloved man.
