‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Chelsea Still Reeling From Adam’s Death – Mariah Offers Support

'The Young And The Restless' Spoilers: Chelsea Still Reeling From Adam's Death - Mariah Offers SupportChelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) is handling Adam’s (Justin Hartley) death on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But, she’s only human and clearly remains vulnerable. Mariah (Camryn Grimes) recognized that her boss didn’t want to be alone and agreed to spend some time with Chelsea, which also reflects well on this developing character.

Gal pals? Maybe not. But, Chelsea’s offer for Mariah to eat frozen yogurt at the penthouse where Adam previously lived was genuine. With Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) having gone out on a date with Kevin (Greg Rikaart), two pieces of Chelsea 2.0 found themselves alone with the kids. Moving beyond work issues, the ladies were subsequently open about their personal lives.

Egan faces a daunting task in the coming months as the apparent forced pairing of her character and Joshua Morrow’s (Nick) begins to develop. Switching from many years’ attachment to ‘Chadam’, as embodied by Michael Muhney and Hartley, won’t be simple. Egan possesses full acting chops. So, she’s clearly capable of demonstrating chemistry with what will be Chelsea’s second choice. But, writing will be key to whether the rise of this potential power couple is believable.

Whether ‘Chick’ can work is far from certain. Nick has been involved with various women since he officially split from Sharon (Sharon) ages ago. Some of those characters have fit his character’s range better than others. This time around Morrow’s being asked to pair with an actor who’s well-liked character was fused to Nick’s former enemy. However, Adam’s genuine outreach to his brother, shortly before his unexpected (apparent) death changed the picture. That request also asks viewers to give ‘Chick’ a chance as well.

Mariah has become a human being during the past few years. Her understandable facade dropped as soon as she embraced her real family. Along with that deep personal gain came the rise of compassion, which she offered to Chelsea who’s still hurting. Both characters walked a tough line when speaking about Kevin, as he’s interested in Chloe, who’s Chelsea’s perceived best friend, and he’s also someone who Mariah deeply cares about.

Grimes first full leap toward a complete adult relationship on Y&R is very interesting. Since returning full-time to the show in 2014, she’s mostly played a loner. Intentionally set different than Cassie, this part has allowed different elements within Grimes’ talents to shine. And, as time has passed, some natural similarities between the fond memories of who Cassie once was can be seen through Mariah’s evolving heart. Strong kudos is offered to Grimes for becoming a second solid persona.
