‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Cane Wants Control of Brash and Sassy – Pushing ‘Villy’ Out Of Company

Cane (Daniel Goddard) just told Vickie (Amelia Heinle) and Travis (Michael Roark) that they should do lunch with ‘Lane’ on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Then, later in the same episode, he told Lily (Christel Khalil) that if Jill (Jess Walton) pushes Vickie and Billy (Jason Thompson) out he’ll be able to take control at Brash and Sassy. So, it appears that Mr. Ashby has two faces.

No one rational would blame Cane, or Vickie, for wanting Billy to be fired. His incessant, baby-need-a-bottle behavior is outrageous. This middle-aged and restless man simply doesn’t want to put his life in order.

Jill’s intentions were honorable, as she wanted to try and help reunite a family. But, at some point, if she doesn’t pull herself back from the emotional cliff, Jill will become another one of Billy’s many enablers. Vickie jumped from that car before it crashed, again, and she was right. Travis surely seems like a better romantic bet.

Jill’s soapy adopted son has been playing it cool to-date. He put up with Billy’s initial baloney about working together, punched him in the face, then made up like a good somewhat brother should. But, Cane’s revealed desire to also see Vickie booted from the laboratory and office space that Simon (Michael E. Knight), Ashley (Eileen Davidson) and Hilary (Mishael Morgan) recently departed was a surprise.

Cane was honest earlier this year with Lily. He did say that he was ready to put his corporate game face back on and then followed through. She easily embraced her husband’s ambition. And, his current comments don’t tag him as a total cad. But, what has Vickie done to Cane that makes her a perceived problem?

Yes, Vickie allowed herself to be pushed off-track when she was temporarily in charge at Newman Enterprises. But, as long as she’s not under her father’s thumb, she’s as sharp a business person as anyone. Cane hasn’t exactly lived a steady life in Genoa City. So, if he’s smart, he’ll make and maintain positive ties with Vickie. Then, together, both partners can run Brash and Sassy while Billy is whining about something somewhere with Phyllis (Gina Tognoni).
