Roger (Franco), as we know, played Todd (Lord) Manning on ABC’s now defunct “One Life to Live” from 1992 – 2013, when the show was cancelled. While in Llanview, he took over the publication and running of The Banner, newspaper from sister, Victoria Lord Buchanan (Erika Slezak). In 2012, Roger (Todd) came to Port Charles in a cross-over role where once again, he took over the publishing of the local PC Newspaper “The Press”. Daughter Starr Manning (Kristen Alderson) soon followed ‘Dad’ to Port Charles.

When One Life to Live was cancelled in 2012, so were the characters of Todd and Starr Manning… and so, new characters Kiki Jerome and Franco (no last name at first) were created. Franco, originally played by James Franco (2009 – 2012), set Port Charles on its ear by terrorizing Jason Morgan Quartermaine (Steve Burton), his family and his friends in any number of ways… the worst of which was his alleged rape of Jason’s wife, Samantha Morgan (Kelly Monaco) on their honeymoon in Hawaii.

I think one of Roger’s finest, and most tender, scenes came when Franco, still suffering the effects of an LSD injection, had his final scenes with on-air daughter, Kiki. I cried when the scenes of Roger and Kristen on One Life were played as Todd and Starr, and then interwoven with scenes as Franco and Kiki.

It truly was… Roger at his best!
