The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) News: Melody Thomas Scott Addresses Eric Braeden Retirement Rumors

'The Young And The Restless' (Y&R) News: Melody Thomas Scott Addresses Eric Braeden Retirement Rumors“The Young And The Restless” (Y&R) rumors teasing that Eric Braeden is quitting the CBS soap and Victor Newman is exiting – just won’t die!  Eric Braeden announced last month that he had just signed another two year contract with “The Young And The Restless” and would not be going anywhere until at least 2017.  Despite the fact that Eric Braeden is contractually obligated to stay on the CBS soap for at least two more years – rumors still seem to be popping up every other day claiming that he is leaving.

Last week Eric Braeden finally had enough of the incorrect “The Young And The Restless” spoilers and he shut them down in a rather hilarious way on Twitter.  Just about every day Braeden receives half a dozen tweets from concerned fans asking if he is really leaving “Y&R.”  One viewer tweeted Braeden and asked if he was retiring and Braeden replied with a hilarious meme of himself rolling his eyes and it was captioned, “Not this shit again.”

Apparently, Eric Braeden is not the only “Y&R” star that is sick of having to shut down rumors that he is retiring.  Over the weekend Melody Thomas Scott took to Twitter and addressed the casting rumors about her on-screen love interest, and it sounds like she is just as fed up.  Melody tweeted this message to her followers on Twitter, “Again…Eric Is NOT LEAVING THE SHOW!!!!”

So, in case there is any confusion … the rumors floating around the internet and Facebook claiming that Eric Braeden is retiring are 100% not true.  Even if Eric did wake up next week and decide he wanted to quit – he can’t – he just signed a two year contract!  Besides, the odds of that happening are slim to none, Eric has stated on more than one occasion that he plans on working up until the day that he dies…retirement is not in the cards for Victor Newman.
