‘General Hospital’ RUMOR: Will Dante Quit His Job At PCPD As A Result Of The Affair Fallout?

'General Hospital' RUMOR: Will Dante Quit His Job At PCPD As A Result Of The Affair Fallout?‘General Hospital’ spoilers reveal that there is lots more fallout to come from the big reveal at The Haunted Star party. Here’s a look at some things we think might happen in coming weeks. Remember the other day when Valerie Spencer [Brytni Sarpi] excitedly told Dante Falconeri [Dominic Zamprogna] that she had been accepted to the Port Charles Police Academy? But that was before Dillon Quartermaine [Robert Palmer Watkins] not-so-accidentally played the wrong footage at the Halloween party and exposed Dante and Val’s one night stand.

The next day, when Valerie came to check on Lulu Spencer [Emme Rylan] but found only Dante at their loft, Val mentioned to Dante that she was sure her shot at being a PCPD cop had been done in by the revelation of their affair. Valerie said that since it’s public knowledge now, she’ll likely be kicked out. But what we’ve seen in the aftermath of the reveal is that Dante is shouldering 100% of the burden for the mistake of their affair – to both Lulu and Valerie. But will Dante now go one step further and shield Valerie professionally as part of his penance for cheating?

One ‘General Hospital’ rumor that’s been swirling is that evil DA Paul Hornsby [Richard Burgi] will come down hard on Valerie in the wake of the reveal and make life hard on her at the PCPD. And remember, PCPD chief Jordan Ashford has already issued a warning to Dante that his inability to keep his junk in his pants better not foul up her workplace or else. Since Dante is higher on the PCPD food chain than Valerie, it could look like workplace sexual harassment if Valerie is punished for their breach of morals. Will Dante fall on the proverbial sword and resign as a PCPD cop to save Valerie?

New co-headwriters Jean Passanante and Shelly Altman seem to like to drop Easter eggs then come back to them in a week or two – as they did with Franco [Roger Howarth] taking away Kiki Jerome’s [Hayley Erin] car keys – then a week later, she got into a drunk driving accident. They seem to like to introduce then leave hints lying dormant before they circle back and the two writers never waste words. If they mention something, we’ll hear it again at some point – you have to love that about them. And we know they intend to shake up Dante and Lulu significantly before all is said and done.

So what we may see in the coming weeks is that Dante will step down as a detective at the Port Charles cop shop. This would be a good chance for the new writers to drastically shake-up Dante’s character path. He’ll have lost his wife and then his career. That would leave Dante untethered professionally and romantically. From there, we could see Dante go a couple of different ways. He could go work for his mom Olivia Falconeri [Lisa LoCicero] at the MetroCourt or he could do what’s much more interesting and head for the mob. We’re hoping for the latter.

Dante does have some mob experience from working as an undercover cop in the syndicate run by dad Sonny Corinthos [Maurice Benard]. It’s not too much of a stretch to see that Dante might take a job for the cartel, perhaps as security. Of course, Sonny has said that he doesn’t want any of his kids in the mob, but when Paul heats up the mob aggression against the Corinthos cartel and Sonny is still stuck in his wheelchair, it’s likely that Michael Quartermaine [Chad Duell] will step up to run the cartel and it could take a Godfather-esque turn with Morgan Corinthos [Bryan Craig] and Dante at his side…

Whatever Altman and Passanante have planned for Dante, it looks like we will see him spiraling down for the foreseeable future as Lulu dumps her hubby and moves on with her life. We’ve been promised that Dante and Lulu will find their way back to each other eventually, but there’s no telling what hurdles Dante will face personally, professionally and romantically until then.
