‘General Hospital’ (GH) Interview: Keeping Up With Kristen Alderson – Where Is ‘Kiki Jerome’ Now?

“General Hospital” (GH) Interview: Keeping Up With Kristen Alderson – Where Is She Now?“General Hospital” (GH) actress Kristen Alderson grew up on daytime television. In 1998 joined the cast of “One Life to Live” (OLTL) as Starr Manning. She was placed on contract with the soap opera in 2001 – at the time it made her the youngest actor/actress on daytime television with a contract role. When “OLTL” was cancelled in 2011 she brought Starr to “General Hospital” – where the character was eventually morphed into Kiki Jerome.

In February 2015 Kristen walked away from “General Hospital” to explore other options in life. ABC Soaps In Depth – October 18 through October 23 – caught up with the actress to see what she has been doing since leaving the show. Alderson revealed, “I’ve had meetings with agencies and been told, ‘You’re literally changing careers.’ I’ve entered a whole different world.” Auditioning for roles is a very new experience for the young woman who spent nearly 18 years on television – she’s always had a job and never and reveals auditioning is much more difficult than she had imagined. “I’ve been taking classes to better my auditioning skills,” Kristen says.

And what is Alderson looking for when it comes to acting roles? She isn’t ready to come back to anything on television – it’s just a little too similar to daytime dramas. She also doesn’t want to commit herself to anything long term at this point in her career. “I don’t want to book something that I’d be on for years and years. I want to do a bunch of little things.”

Kristen and boyfriend Chad Duell – Michael Quartermaine or Michael Corinthos depending on what day you’re watching “GH” – got a puppy whom they named Bella. She is a cross between a Bernese mountain dot and a poodle. Do Kristen and Chad have any wedding plans? They’re not in any rush to walk down the aisle. “I’ll want to get married when we decide to start having kids, and that’s not anytime soon.”Don’t rule out a return to daytime for Kristen Alderson! The life of an actor is a struggle and right now she feels she is at an age where she can afford that luxury. But when she does decide to settle down and start a family she wants a stable job and would jump at the change to be part of a soap opera again. “But that’s something I might want later in life, I don’t need it now,” Alderson says.
