'As The World Turns' (ATWT) News: Martha Byrne’s Dramedy Web Series "Weight" Receives High PraiseMartha Byrne spent nearly two decades portraying Lily Walsh Snyder on “As The World Turns” (ATWT). Now she is starring in and executive producing a new web series – the dramedy “Weight” – which has received high praise from the entertainment community. The pilot has received a Vimeo staff pick recommendation.

Claire is described as a “middle class mom” who returns home after here months filming a weight loss reality television show where she loses 100 pounds. In the pilot Claire’s husband Ben (Bradley White) and two daughters Fern (Kate West) and Jane (Peyton Ellis) do not recognize her when she steps out for the big reveal – Jane even asks if they should get a DNA test to prove Claire is her mommy.

When Claire goes home she must keep the secret about whether she won or not from her family for another three months – she signed a confidentiality agreement. She may have lost 100 pounds but not the everyday stresses like financial difficulties and marital problems – and food temptations that surround her.

On a visit to her sister after she returns home Claire is thrilled to find out that the smaller clothes that her sister Melanie (Allison Smith) is giving away to Goodwill – Melanie has always been the skinny sister. At the end of the pilot Claire gives into the temptation of a cupcake while exercising in her sister’s pool.

“Weight” has been created and written by Writers Guild Award Nominee Daryn Strauss. Frederick King Keller – producer of “Blue Bloods” and “24” is the director – Daryn Strauss and three time Emmy winner are the executive producers. Described as a dramedy, “Weight” will resonate with any woman – or anyone for that matter – who struggles with their weight – and the impulse to consume foods that aren’t healthy and to forgo exercise.
