That’s because she’s the one person in this fictional town of Genoa City that has the guts to stand up to someone like Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) or at least speak the truth about him.

During the most recent episode of The Young and the Restless, it was Lauren who pointed out that no one seems to bat an eye when it’s Victor that is screwing people over in town, but when someone like Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) does it, everyone is up in arms.

Of course, viewers of the soap certainly did have a lot to say about where this storyline is headed.

Some even commented with, “So when Victor used the program on Cane… no one batted an eye and he had absolutely no consequences… he never does when he does something illegal. But when Phyllis does the same exact thing to Victor everyone’s like Phyllis is a criminal and a pariah and we hate her! Like wtf is wrong w/ you people!”

Another critic wrote, “Bringing up sexism doesn’t help Phyllis because Phyllis thinks she’s entitled to this because she’s been mistreated. She’s been gloating but over what?”

Why Does Victor Get A Pass?

“Crazy thought…it’s not ok for neither men nor women to screw people over. Two wrongs do not make a right.”

And then there was this comment as well: “Bad writing by Josh to keep Phyllis… or better said Michelle Stafford small, somehow Eric Braeden has some power there that he keep the power. Michelle Stafford is such a great actress, she has the power to be the Alexis Colby or Abby Ewing of the soaps series… such a missed opportunity!!!!!”

Then again, Y&R fans will simply have to tune in each and every day to find out what will happen next.
