Welcome Back, Mariah Copeland!
The Young and the Restless spoilers for the week of August 3-7 confirm that Mariah Copeland will return from her time at the mental health facility.
She was sentenced to the treatment center after agreeing to a plea deal for kidnapping Dominic Winters Chancellor (Ethan Ray Clark). Mariah returns to surprise her mother, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case), during the Monday, August 3 episode.
Meanwhile, fans will also see super couple Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) and Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell) this coming week.
Danny has some interesting news for Cricket, as he ditches the rockstar life on tour and becomes the new club manager of GC’s Shadow Room.
Writer Shake Up
News broke earlier this week that The Young and the Restless has found two co-Head Writers to replace Josh Griffith, who has been the soap’s head writer since 2019, as well as executive producer from 2023-2025.
As per reports, Dan O’Connor and Jamey Gadden will share writing duties, officially stepping into the role as of the week of August 3.
In 2019, Giddens created the primetime show, Ambitions, which aired until 2020. He was also a breakdown writer for Days of Our Lives from 2020 to 2025, and more recently Beyond the Gates. In fact, he’s been nominated for two Daytime Emmys this year, one for BTG and the other for Days.
Meanwhile, O’Connor started his daytime drama writing career at One Life to Live, working as a writer’s assistant, then script supervisor, and eventually script writer. After OLTL was canceled in 2012, O’Connor joined General Hospital.
In 2019, he became co-head writer for GH with Chris Van Etten and eventually exited in 2024. During his time with General Hospital, O’Connor won a Daytime Emmy and a Writers Guild Award.
