Prince Harry & Meghan Remove Public Walkabout In Their Four-day Australian Trip

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have landed in Australia to kick off their four-day visit, and already there’s been some last minute changes.

Probably fueled by the 45,000 signatures wanting to keep them from feeding off of Australian taxpayers, the couple has decided to dial back the scale of their ‘faux royal tour.’

Even though they insist it’s a private visit, anyone can see that a real royal tour is the blueprint, with a clear lean towards making money and promoting brand Sussex to the world.

Everything We Know About the Police Protection Afforded to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle In Australia

When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle graced Australia for their first tour as a newly minted royal couple in 2018, they were received by thousands of Australians. During the course of their trip, they met and greeted these fans.

However, following their controversial exit from the Royal Family in 2018, things have changed a lot regarding the public’s perception of the duo. As a result of this, Harry and Meghan have chosen to cancel the public walkabout section of their trip.

The decision to do this might have less to do with the public’s goodwill – or lack thereof – and more to do with security.

Prior to the couple landing in the country, Australians have been very vocal about the need to not waste government resources on the divisive duo.

Despite this, sources told GB News that “security considerations and the expenses associated with maintaining public order remain central to planning decisions.”

Before the couple landed in the country to kick off their four-day “privately funded” tour, New South Wales Police confirmed that they would be leading an operation aimed at minimizing disruption to community, whilst providing security measures at the same time.

Victoria Police announced that they’re aware two high profile individuals will be visiting Melbourne privately, and will only be deploying resources as necessary to ensure public safety.

The Melbourne leg of the tour is perhaps the most charity intensive jaunt in their itinerary, with the couple engaging with organizations supporting young people and vulnerable women. This included a visit to one of Australia’s leading children’s hospitals.
