For some time now, we covered the disappearance of people like retired Air Force Major General William Neil McCasland from Albuquerque, New Mexico. Plus, the similar disappearances and deaths of at least 10 US scientists linked to NASA and defense research. And finally, it’s getting some federal attention. Read on to find out more.
Crime Followers Were Getting Impatient
Of course, many true crime followers felt impatient. For example, by the time that Los Angeles Magazine contributor Lauren Conlin chatted about Steven Garcia with NewsNation, theorists started suspecting deliberate attempts to avoid the issue by the White House.
Actually, it was a bit of a headcratcher because there’s a rather disturbing pattern of missing people with top security clearance.

For example, why was nobody in mainstream talking about the similar disappearance of Monica Reza, who worked with McCasland? Well, the newest updates came from FOX News that the White House, FBI, and Department of Energy conduct a joint review of the various NASA-related cases from 2022 to 2026.
Questions By Peter Doocy
Notably, it took journalist Peter Doocy to ask about it. Per FOX:
During a press briefing on April 16, 2026, Doocy asked White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt if federal authorities were investigating whether the disappearances and deaths of at least ten scientists with access to classified nuclear and aerospace materials were connected.
Feedback soon arrived that officials claim there isn’t a verified connection, but the “superficial similarities” are hard to ignore.
A Crime Element
While followers long ago decided there might be a true crime element, it took some time before any lawmakers talked about it. Apart from NASA JPL engineer Monica Reza and William Neil McCasland, who disappeared, others ended up dead. They included people like Caltech astrophysicist Carl Grillmair, who was shot dead in February.
Naturally, in the silence from the White House, plenty of conspiracies emerged. They included witness protection ideas. Or coverups about whistleblowers. And, folks argued that there might be foreign intelligence agencies involved.
Congressman Has Questions
Well, it looks like some lawmakers take it all very seriously. It was Congressman Eric Burlison who recently chatted about the similarities of the disappearances, and he linked it to the idea that foreign adversaries might be “scooping up” our experts. That also arrived on FOX, so mainstream finally gets some attention on it.
He chatted about how recently, five of the security cleared people simply “walked out of their homes,” leaving behind keys, glasses, and cell phones. Additionally, he referenced a possible 11th case involving Amy Espridge, whose 2022 death is now being looked at again.
Viewers React
On YouTube, on Monday this week, plenty of people seem relieved that finally, something tangible seems to be happening. But, many of them wonder why it took so long. And, there’s a notable suspicion about the feds, themselves.
One of them opined, “Unbelievable it took 11 and people questioning it before our FBI and politicians even acknowledged it. If I were Trump, he needs to really look at who is NOT doing their jobs.”
Here are some other responses from the discussion:
- The part about them leaving behind phones, keys, and glasses is what makes this feel really suspicious.
- This is fishy AF, either our government is incompetent or are on it.
- Your own agencies are the biggest suspects…
- The US Government is either incompetent or complicit in this! If Kash Patel is investigating, nothing will happen!
