True crime, Nancy Guthrie, Brian Entin and Jesse Weber all in one conversation attracted a lot of interest on Thursday night. It all went down a bit earlier when the trio met up at the CrimeCon. Read on to find out more, including claims that allegedly, Savannah Guthrie splashed out cash on private investigators.
The Idea Of Looking Elsewhere
Recently, we reported that retired FBI agent, Maureen O’Connell noted that when cases stall, it’s not unusual for families to look elsewhere for information.
Brian Entin confirmed that happens, but notably, he can’t verify if the reports about a private investigator are real.
For now, it seems as if Entin views the alleged $500K payments to a PI a bit skeptically. Brian spent a lot of time in Tucson.
Payments Not Confirmed
On the ground reporting came regularly, personally, and long after other journalists left. And, Entin hadn’t heard anything about a private investigator being employed by the Guthrie family.
Both Jesse Weber and Brian Entin expressed their belief that the case not being solved yet seems incredibly odd. While Brian wasn’t able to confirm the PI payments, he did say something useful about it:
He opined:
[Savannah] is no longer in direct communication with Sheriff Nanos, which I find to be interesting because in the beginning, you know, that was her sort of go to from what I’m told: cell phone numbers, talking each other, keeping you updated. The fact that she’s not talking to him anymore, makes me wonder if she’s lost some confidence.
A Long-Lasting Crime Story
Next, the duo on NewsNation moved on and discussed the many theories around the Lynette Hooker disappearance in the Bahamas.
In the comments section, Hooker was discussed by viewers, but more crime folks focused on Nancy Guthrie. That also seems unusual.
It’s been nearly three months since she was, apparently, forcibly abducted from her home in the Catalina Foothills. Often, crime stories float around for a few days and then fall away.
Viewers React
One person wrote, “Savannah should have used her alleged $500,000 to pay for her mom’s security camera subscription and a live-in assistant/trained security so her mom was not alone.”
Here are a few other responses from the discussion:
- I sure PRAY for Savannah…her family…It’s incredibly sad that the Police/FBI hasn’t found something. Something has to come up soon, it’s been over 100 days!
- If Savannah hired a PR today…PI should have been hired FEBRUARY 2ND.
- We really want to know ‘something’ of the ‘thousands’ of leads – there must be SOMETHING…
