Kate Mansi’s General Hospital Exit: Actress Teases Comeback

General Hospital spoilers confirm that Kate Mansi has officially exited the show as of Friday, June 12.

Her character, Kristina Corinthos-Davis, left the land of Port Charles to attend medical school in Los Angeles. With that said, is Mansi open to a Kristina comeback?

Kate Mansi Talks Candidly About Her Exit

Mansi recently had an interview with TV Insider, talking about her departure from the ABC soap.

She noted that she knew her contract was ending in April and she wanted to give General Hospital proper notice so they could organize future storylines.

The actress also noted that she told most of her co-stars about her decision to leave the show. Still, she waited to tell onscreen dad, Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos), until the day they filmed their last scenes together.

Mansi stated that Benard was crying and asked during rehearsal if this was really it and if she was leaving. She told him, “Yes,” and the two cried and hugged. Mansi also added:

“During taping, it was a very meaningful, authentic reaction we both had saying good-bye to each other, which is what I really wanted, because the father-daughter relationship for Kristina and Sonny, and for Maurice and me, has been so special and unique.”

As of this writing, Mansi is in Europe with her hubby, Producer Matt McInnis, as he’s filming there.

When asked if she could return to the show at some point, the actress said that ‘anything is possible’, with a wink.

Kate Mansi’s Daytime Resume

Mansi joined the General Hospital cast in 2023, replacing Lexi Ainsworth as Kristina Corinthos-Davis recast.

In addition to this, the actress played Abigail Deveraux on Days of Our Lives from 2011 to 2016, and 2019 to 2020.

Mansi has also been nominated for three Daytime Emmy Awards, winning in 2017 under the Outstanding Supporting Actress category for her work on Days.

The other nominations took place in 2019 for her work as Abigail under the Outstanding Guest Performer category, and the other was in 2025 for her role as Kristina on GH.
