Justin Hartley’s Next Big Move: Executive Producing New ABC Crime Drama

Justin Hartley's Next Big Move: Executive Producing New ABC Crime DramaI love to see me some good book adaptations, and this time, Isabella Maldonado’s bestselling novel will be spearheaded by none other than ‘Tracker’s’ very own Justin Hartley.

Fresh off from the highs of ‘Tracker,’ which found a massive audience right from the CBS show’s first season, Justin Hartley is now joining the TV adaptation of Isabella Maldonado’s 2024 novel ‘A Forgotten Kill,’ as one of its executive producers.

What We Know About Justin Hartley’s Involvement in ‘A Forgotten Kill’ Adaptation

ABC has won the rights to develop the popular novel ‘A Forgotten Kill’ – the bestseller that thrilled fans for its intriguing and captivating take on crime solving.

As a retired police captain, Maldonado centered the story on “ex–Army Ranger Dani Vega, a Nuyorican from the Lower East Side and dauntless FBI agent whose specialty is breaking codes and detecting patterns.” When Dani is partnered with NYPD Detective Mark Flint, their clashing styles ultimately give them the edge they need to crack tough cases.

The TV series will revolve around Dani, who is haunted by a family tragedy in her past that has come back to put her career and life at risk.

Working with a script penned by ‘Line of Fire’s’ Diana Son, Hartley has chosen to bring his production company Change Up Productions onboard. He is able to do this via his overall deal at 20th Television.

At present, no cast has been announced since the project is still in its early stages, but I’m sure that fans wouldn’t be disappointed if Hartley is thrust into the role of one of the book’s leading characters.

Whether he has time to spare from ‘Tracker,’ which, though being in its third season, continues to reign as the most-watched entertainment series on network television, is another thing altogether.

The ‘Tracker’ series, in turn, is based on a bestselling book by Jeffery Deaver, titled, ‘The Never Game.’ It is also produced by Hartley’s ChangeUp Productions under the overall 20th Television deal.

Alongside executive producing the show, Hartley plays lead character Colter Shaw, a trusted lone-wolf survivalist who, driven by the troubles of his past, uses his instincts to find the missing and collect rewards.

Hartley is repped by CAA and attorneys Karl R. Austen and Michael A. Auerbach.
