Could Prince Andrew Be Stripped From the Line of Succession in Six Months?

If reports are to be believed, Andrew’s final connection to the Monarchy will be erased within six months. What do I mean?

His name will be permanently removed from the line of succession, and since he’s lost his Dukedom, his Princely title, his patronage, and military titles, this will really be the last rung in the ladder of downfall.

At present, he’s still under investigation by the police for his conduct in a public office, from back when he served as British envoy. So it’s possible that losing the last of his royal connection is really not the worst of his nightmares at the moment.

Former Prince Andrew Will Be Removed From the Line of Succession’ Regardless of Whether He Is Charged

Following Andrew’s bombshell arrest in Feb., pressure has been mounting on the UK Government to remove Andrew from the line of succession.

In addition to calls from royalists, Australia and New Zealand have also expressed their support for the initiative.

In light of this, royal expert Phil Dampier opined: “I think it will probably happen within six months. It could happen quite quickly – whether he ends up being charged or ending up in court or not.”

“The political will and public opinion are so strong that it would end up being a gesture in some ways. He’s clearly not going to come back as a working royal and the monarchy only exists with the support of the public.”

Removing Andrew from the line of succession will require the consent of all 14 countries of which the King is head of state.

Even with the arduous process, Dampier believes it can be achieved due to the gravity of Andrew’s actions. It’s also interesting how Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese made his stance ultra-clear in his letter, meaning that the flood gates have officially been opened.

“But the fact he’s broken ranks and said that, I’m sure the others will probably follow suit. These things can be done,” he said.

What Did the Australian Prime Minister Say In His Letter About Andrew

Arriving shortly after Andrew’s arrest, the Australian Prime Minister directly supported the motion to remove Andrew from the line of succession.

Albanese’s letter read: “In light of recent events concerning Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, I am writing to confirm that my government would agree to any proposal to remove him from the line of royal succession.”

The Prime Minister added, “I agree with His Majesty that the law must now take its full course and there must be a full, fair and proper investigation. These are grave allegations and Australians take them seriously.”

New Zealand also presented their own impassioned argument on why swift action needs to be taken against Andrew. Who will be next?
