Christopher Evans, 35, hails from Cincinnati, Ohio, and has been indicted on multiple counts of murder after his infant daughter Naomi Evans died. Read on for more details.
The Murder Charges
People reported that “The infant, Naomi Evans, suffered injuries while home alone with Christopher on Sept. 5 while the baby’s mother “was in another area of the home doing laundry,” the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office said in a news release on Friday, Sept. 18.”
WLWT News explained the charges and they include “one charge of aggravated murder, three charges of murder, one charge of felonious assault and six charges of child endangering.” Evans remains jailed on a $2 million bond.
Previous Offender
Fox 19 noted that it’s not the first time Christopher Evans faced legal action. The outlet reported that back in 2017, he “was sentenced to three years in prison…after he admitted to becoming frustrated while changing his baby’s diaper and confessed to throwing the infant onto a wood-framed changing table, causing the infant’s head to strike the wood.”
Evans later recanted that confession during his 2017 trial, claiming it was false, but the jury convicted him.
However, on December 18, 2018, Judge Oda allowed him to leave prison early and finish his sentence on supervised probation.
What Happened to Naomi?
Police officers got a call on September 5, 2026. They headed out to a home in the Kennedy Heights neighborhood because a child wasn’t responding.
Emergency responders took young Naomi Evans to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. She didn’t make it. She died the following day.
Medical Findings
Doctors and investigators looked into what killed the baby. Reports noted that Naomi suffered “massive head trauma.”
The medical findings showed “a skull fracture.” There was also “bleeding to the brain.”
Arrest and Investigation
Officers arrested Evans on September 10, 2026. The court set his bond at “$2 million.”
The prosecution pointed out that the baby was just “23 days old,” when she died. Now Evans sits behind bars. If convicted on these new charges, he faces “up to life in prison.”
