The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers show that the CBS soap brought the thrills and chills during the week of April 7 – 11 and we were here for it! In case you missed it or just want to relive all the excitement that came down the pike during a very busy week in Genoa City, we have the highlights for you here.
Nothing is more scintillating than watching Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) mow down his enemies. Last week he enlisted a past foe in Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) to help take down a current foe, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). Things are about to get hot as Audra goes in for the kill in exchange Victor’s vow to set her back up in the corporate world.
What is her mission? Seduce wily Kyle (her ex) and lure him away from Victor’s granddaughter Claire Newman (Hayley Erin). If the road to hell is paved with good intentions, Audra has her work cut out for her.
Audra thinks she can get the goods on Kyle without sleeping with him but savvy soap fans know that this storyline will go off the rails in record time.
Goodbye Alan, Hello Martin!
The Wednesday, April 9 episode was classic soapland with poor Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) discovering that her fiancé is a lying louse. And a back from the dead one at that.
Plus, he’s a bad twin posing as a good twin. All the soap tropes in one deliciously juicy package paid off as St. Traci wrung her hands over the fact that good twin Alan was dead and evil twin Martin (Christopher Cousins) impersonated his way into her heart. On the upside, maybe Traci can turn her love disaster into a best seller?
Gone Girls Win In the End
Once Martin was at the police station for questioning, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) sealed the deal by getting Martin to confess. They drove the man up the wall until he broke and confessed to kidnapping them and tricking Traci.
Never have we rooted so hard for the bad guy to get punished. What he did to Traci was terrible and we sincerely hope the writers don’t send her down the same rabbit hole as Ashley.
Whoever is responsible for the psychological conceits foisted upon Sharon, Ashley, and Phyllis needs a better degree before practicing without a license.
So many wrong mental health concepts have been trotted out and written into their storylines, it’s embarrassing.
Overall it was a tremendously soapy week in GC and we can’t wait to see what the new week brings!
