Once upon a time, the champion of polygamous marriage might have been Kody Brown, but right now, the reality TV star is not so sure. Wait, let me rephrase that: he believes it’s a terrible, terrible decision.
Like, is this the Kody Brown we know?
Robyn Brown Wants Reassurance From Kody Brown That Their Monogamous Relationship Is Enough
Kody Brown’s fall from grace was a near swift one. He went from having four wives to one in the span of a mere two years. Once Christine opened the minds of others to the possibility of jumping ship, Meri – the oft-berated one on the show – joined suit and Janelle brought in the rear.
What this means is that Kody is stuck with his last and only legal wife of the lot, Robyn Brown. But even then, Robyn is not quite sure their relationship is going to last, because can you teach an old dog new tricks?
“I’ve had some concerns about whether or not having one wife would be enough for him,” Robyn is heard moaning in an E!
News exclusive clip from the April 27 episode of the TLC show, “because he has been living and used to this other way for so long.”
“The other way” for those who missed the catch is Kody being the proud husband of four women. The fact that this is no longer Kody’s existence makes Robyn feel “vulnerable.”
“I kind of need to know if we’re OK I guess,” Robyn said, “and just make sure that this works for us. The question in my head is, ‘Is this it? Or are we going to try to, you know, to live in a polygamous marriage again?'”
Kody Brown Describes His “Last Moments” of Polygamy As “Terrible”
Though she joined the polygamous relationship late – the matriarch married Kody in 2014 and shares 5 children with him – Robyn has often been described as Kody’s favorite. Well, as his long-standing favorite, she broached the topic with him over a date night.
“It’s been a challenge for me,” Robyn confessed during the date night. “This is what I thought I was gonna be doing my whole life.”
To her surprise, Kody, 56, was singing a different tone about polygamy, confessing that he feels he’s been “slapped” by the whole situation.
“It’s hard not to be bitter about the fact that I bought off on it and did it,” Kody told Robyn, “because in the end, in the last moments of it—I felt terrible in the last moments of it.”
What does this mean? Well, Kody thinks he’s had his fair share of polygamy for one lifetime.
“I don’t want to be flippant with my answer, because we were devoted to this, but I’m not interested in plural marriage anymore,” Kody said. “I don’t want to pursue another woman because I don’t want that headache—the questions, the struggles, the wonder about trust. I’m not in that space.”
