DOOL Spoilers: Can Shawn-Douglas Save Bo Before It’s Too Late?

Days of Our Lives spoilers and updates reveal Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) has been in a coma since 2023; his family received troubling news -he requires a special drug to survive.

However, the drug is not yet approved by the FDA; Shawn-Douglas Brady (Brandon Beemer), is ready to risk everything to save his father-is it too late?

Shawn Has Been Struggling Since He Accidentally Put His Dad In A Coma

Shawn-Douglas Brady (Brandon Beemer) is overwhelmed with guilt regarding his father’s current condition, and rightly so-as viewers are aware, Shawn-D is the one responsible for putting his father in a coma.

In 2023, he shot Bo, believing his mother, Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso), was in imminent danger-his concerns were valid, as Bo had recently been brainwashed and posed a lethal threat to Hope.

However, just before he fired the gun, Hope managed to reach him, rekindling his memories of their love.

Tragically, it was too late, he and Harris Michaels, (Steve Burton) who was with him at the time couldn’t hear what they were saying.

In that critical moment, Shawn-Douglas found himself facing his parents and shot Bo to safeguard his mother, leading to Bo’s ongoing coma.

Shawn And Hope Were Shocked Bo Was Alive In The First Place

Hope and Shawn-D were taken aback to learn that Bo was still alive. He had passed away in Hope’s arms back in 2015 due to terminal brain cancer. However, in the world of soap operas, death is seldom permanent.

It was revealed that Bo had been exhumed and kept in stasis by his obsessed stalker, Megan Hathaway DiMera (Miranda C. Wilson), who was also presumed dead.

Stefano DiMera (Joe Mascolo) had similarly manipulated her fate, and Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) had resurrected her.

Megan had also kept Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall), Kate Brady (Lauren Koslow), and Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) in stasis, but they were eventually saved and restored to life.

Shawn Will Do Anything To Save His Dad

This week, Bo’s family learned that he is battling sepsis and urgently requires a specific medication, one that is still being worked on.

Unfortunately, the doctor in charge of his treatment denied Kayla access to it; overcome with guilt, Shawn-Douglas is resolute in his mission to rescue his father.

He turns to his Uncle Steve Johnson (Stephen Nicholas) for assistance, and together they hatch a plan to steal the medication from the doctor’s office.

As a police officer, violating the law contradicts everything Shawn-D stands for, yet he is prepared to risk his career and reputation to save Bo’s life. Steve, as a ISA agent could be putting his own reputation and career at risk as well.

Brandon Beemer Recently Spoke To Soap Opera Digest

Brandon Beemer recently shared insights with Soap Opera Digest regarding his character’s sense of urgency, and his being driven to save his father’s life at any cost.

He explained, ‘Once Shawn and Steve discover that this drug could potentially save Bo’s life, they realize they must take action.

The sepsis that has invaded Bo’s body could kill him, poisoning all his internal organs and causing them to shut down.

Shawn is determined to be involved in this mission-his father’s life is his top priority, overshadowing his job; Shawn is prepared to go to any lengths, even if it risks his career and leads to his arrest.’

Will Bo Die?

It would be a shame to bring Peter Reckell back as Bo only to kill him off; how many more deaths of legendary characters can DOOL fans take?

Sadly, the plot is set to take a heartbreaking twist as DOOL prepares to say goodbye to John Black (Drake Hogestyn) in June, following the actor’s passing in September 2024. He worked closely with the show to ensure John received a proper farewell.

Meanwhile, Peter Reckell and Kristian Alfonso are making their return to the soap, having already filmed their scenes that will begin airing this month.

Brandon Beemer expressed his joy at reuniting with his on-screen parents but remained tight-lipped about Bo’s fate.
