This year hasn’t been the best when it comes to charities that Prince Harry is associated with. Thing started rolling when he stepped down from Sentebale – a charity he co-founded to help disadvantaged children living in Botswana and Lesotho.
But, that was not all the tragedies that Harry’s charities would suffer, because now Chad has dropped his African Parks charity, alleging “disrespectful” practices.
As if this isn’t enough, there are rumors the chopping block is coming for ‘Invictus Games’ as well, which, as you know, is kind of the charity highlight of his year. The calls for him to step down has reportedly gotten so loud, he’s taking active steps to block it.
Prince Harry Urged To Take A “Step Back” From Invictus, Insiders Claim
Prince Harry’s image in the last few years has been “divisive” thanks to the PR war he carried on against his family.
Now as Invictus Games heads back to the UK for its 2027 games, Harry is reportedly eager to make peace with his family in hopes of having them attend the events. But will the royal sparkle help him retain the one charity he continues to be actively involved in?
“We are all about bringing people together and inspiring those who have suffered hardship. Now, Invictus is firmly established, [and] it might be better if the duke took a step back,” an insider told Radar Online, adding, “I think Harry was riding high when he left the royal family because it was on his own terms.”
They added: “He was thrilled, he was happy. But now everything is crashing down in front of him after all the decisions he made – leaving the family, the memoir, the Netflix series,” they added. “He probably thought that he would be a winner being away from the royal family. But he’s beginning to realize that things are blowing up in his face.”
In addition to this, Harry is said to be allowing “Hollywood-type” agents to offer him advice on what to do about the competitive games for veterans.
The source went as far as to claim that Harry’s main advisors are his wife and the Hollywood agents, who allegedly aren’t equipped with the skill-set to run a charity of ‘Invictus Games’ caliber.
“He’s probably listening to her too much. They are both a little bit out of touch with reality – especially being surrounded by the Hollywood set,” they concluded.
