Married at First Sight – Peacock’s New Binge Schedule Revealed

Married at First Sight Was On Lifetime - YouTube

Married at First Sight ran for 10 years and last aired on Lifetime. However, the popular show moved recently, and in October, it streams on Peacock. Read on to find out what fans think of the new format and the length of the series.

MAFS Moves

The show that first premiered in 2014 originated in Denmark. If you never watched it, couples get matched via experts, then they meet at the altar. After they tie the knot, they then go off on a honeymoon and decide whether they made the right choice, or if they should divorce.

Often full of drama, the MAFS episodes seem to drag on forever. However, it does give folks a lot of time to discuss the love-to-hate characters. Well, the long show time will now be shortened, as Peacock plans a much faster delivery of episodes.

The Changes To Schedule

On Instagram, when the @mafs account shared a screenshot this week, many people had opinions about it. Now, the show that launches “on Thursday, October 23” comes with a “four-episode premiere.” Notably, the new release strategy is a departure from the “weekly airing” schedule on Lifetime.

Next, a “second batch of three episodes” releases “on October 30.” The pattern continues with “three more on November 6” and “two more on November 13.” The “season finale and reunion show” are scheduled to “air on November 20.”

Fans React To Peacock’s Schedule

Not everyone hates the idea of the reality TV show changing the schedule under Peacock. One follower opined, “Actually this model might be better, waiting a whole week for a messy hour…”

Season 16’s Christopher Daniel thinks it might be better under the new air dates. He commented:

Honestly our season was like 30 episodes and was way too long so this format seems to be following more of the love is blind route which isn’t bad. Literally cuts the amount of episodes in half.

Here are a few more reactions to the Married at First Sight changes:

  • I’m happy with the change it was too long and drawn out in the old format.
  • It was nice to keep going, had something to watch weekly for a few months but at the same time it dragged.
  • Maybe they just want to get this season out since it was filmed well over a year ago. Hopefully the next season will be a little more spaced out.

Meanwhile, others hate that they have to change to another platform. One critic noted, “My biggest problem is that it’s on Peacock now. I won’t be getting Peacock just to watch it. Bummer. I’ll miss watching it.”
