A brand-new season of Life After Lockup is set to premiere on August 1, 2025, on WeTV. However, it’s hard to find much excitement out there. Are fans getting tired of the franchise?
Official Announcements
Official announcements hit websites like The Futon Critic, confirming the season’s launch. The show’s social media has posted reminders, but beyond that, the enthusiasm seems, frankly on the lowdown.

There’s an office push, but buzz among fans seems minimal. Of course, WeTV’s channels are doing the promo work. However, when you scroll through fan platforms like Reddit and TikTok comment sections, and even Instagram fan accounts, there’s a notable quietness.
Nothing lively is circulating, and unless we missed something, there isn’t any debate on which couple will make it or drop off this season.
Is Franchise Fatigue Setting In?
Could it be that franchise fatigue is setting in? After years of “Love” and “Life” spin-offs, audiences may be tired of the same formula. Without fresh story angles or high-profile drama, interest might just be fading away. However, it could also be because there seems to be little in the way of promos like sneak-peeks or cast highlights.
Hype might pick up nearer August, but that’s not far away now. Perhaps some of the lack of interest stems from competitor shows like 90 Day Fiancé. There are plenty of current posts on social media and in tabloids about the diverse cast. So, it seems that Lockup viewers have less to rally around ahead of the premiere.
Social Media Is Subdued
On Reddit, the r/loveafterlockup community shows some posts, but there’s little engagement. In fact, it seems very strange that there’s so little buzz about the upcoming “Life” season. A few people talked about a 2018 report about Clint Brady’s arrest. And another one on Thursday mentioned Scott Davey, who passed away a few years ago.
TikTok isn’t buzzing either. A handful of posts mentioning the show have low engagement, and hashtags like #LifeAfterLockup2025 are barely popping up in searches. Actually, that’s unusual, as even old season re-watch clips often result in hundreds of comments. Clearly, something’s not working for fans this time around.
Will Interest Revive After The Holiday?
The biggest holiday of the year stateside, the 4th of July, is happening at the moment, so lots of people have their minds on other things. That could be why there’s so little hype about the upcoming show. Possibly, in the coming weeks, early preview clips or highlight reels will get fans more interested.
Still, if the showrunners don’t start moving on promos, the show could be premiering into a relative vacuum. Life After Lockup is coming back, however, for now, it seems to be launching into a vacuum. Perhaps it suggests a quieter season premiere than usual.
What do you think? Is it just the timing of the new season’s premiere date that came ahead of the holiday? Or are people growing bored with the couples on Life After Lockup? Let us know in the comments below, and come back here often for all your reality TV news and updates.
