WEtv stars Justine and Michael Persaud returned with a new chapter in Life After Lockup Season 7, and they’re sharing their love, cultural celebration, and, for a change, with a lot of honesty. Recently, they opened up in an exclusive interview. Read on to find out what they said.
The Exclusive Interview
On Monday, the couple sat down with EURweb to discuss their lives as parents to nine children, and their experiences since the season premiered in August. They also discussed more about their plans for a spectacular second wedding that honors Michael’s Indian heritage.

Justine talked about how refreshing it feels to film this season without being pregnant, something that hasn’t happened in years. “It shows the viewers a different side to me,” she shared. Then she added that there’s “More getting back to myself and trying to see who I am without the mother label.”
While admitting that managing their large family is “a juggling act,” Justine Persaud claimed that they found their rhythm and are doing well. Then, Michael joined the conversation by talking about how they just play it straight with WEtv viewers now.
Keeping Things Honest
Michael Persaud noted that in this season of the show, they prefer to be more themselves without worrying too much about saying the right thing. He explained that they’re moving past their previous caution about “covering the mic” or being careful to “don’t say too much.”
Instead, he said, “we just pull back the curtains a bit,” which gives them a better chance to show their authentic relationship. Even if they are imperfect, at least fans will see more of the reality of their lives.
The Wedding
While some WEtv fans mocked the idea of a big wedding, Justine and Michael love the idea of honoring his culture. She said, “We’re definitely wanting to tap into that,” adding, “if I’m going to do it, it’s going to be over the top for sure.”
Michael also weighed in, noting how special it is when someone “take[s] the time to even learn their partner’s cultures.” Actually, that is so often the complaint from TLC fans who watch 90 Day Fiancé. So, he’s not far off the mark.
Talking About The Kids
The Life After Lockup duo also mentioned the criticism that Justine faced during last season’s pregnancy storyline. While some comments “hurt me a lot,” she said that she finds strength in her children. Most especially, that comes from her oldest daughter who’s “been there forever.”
Meanwhile, Michael loves the fact that they do have many supportive fans. He spoke about how they get “more love than anything,” with encouraging messages that “reassure me that I’m on the right path.”
An interesting part of their chat centered on parenting their son with autism. Justine didn’t hesitate to say, “He is my son. And he is my family.” In fact, she likes that his growing public presence brings an opportunity to help other families facing similar situations.
