Life After Lockup – Courtnee And Will’s Marriage Gets Tested

Life After Lockup brings back Courtnee and Will, who fast-tracked their marriage in one of the more chaotic storylines during Love After Lockup Season 6. In the new season, premiering August 1 on WEtv, their marriage will be tested, which should be no surprise to fans of the show.

The Rushed Marriage

Just a day after Courtnee’s prison release, the pair tied the knot. Of course, it didn’t seem like a strong commitment. Mainly because she admitted, “This sucks. I’m not even sure if I wanna go through with this.” With her confession arriving right before the ceremony, many viewers felt it completely lacked sincerity, per Soap Central.

Fans quickly pointed out problems. One described the ceremony as “tacky in every way,” while others mocked her scrunchie ring and last-minute outfit. Will, for his part, hadn’t told his family about the wedding, confessing, “I haven’t told anyone yet.”

Post-wedding life didn’t get easier. Courtnee’s legal issues continued, including an active warrant. Will hinted at relationship tension, saying that “It took a punch.”

The New Season Synopisis

As the new season of Life After Lockup approaches, it was revealed in the synopsis by WEtv, that Courtnee is back behind bars in Portland. Her incarceration complicates their interstate relationship. There was  a legal agreement allowing her to live in California with Will. Now, with distance and legal issues in play, their already fragile marriage faces another blow.

Public opinion about Courtnee and Will’s relationship remains split. Some viewers suspect Courtnee’s motives, believing she may have married Will for financial security rather than love. Others criticize her decision to jump into marriage so quickly. 

Still, Life After Lockup reveals that Courtnee defended their union, insisting their connection was genuine and meant to be. However, their ongoing struggles cast doubt on her optimistic claims. And, fans will see that she had requested a transfer. But, it’s not clear that will happen. 

Is The Relationship For Real?

Many fans don’t think for one minute that Will ever really wanted Courtney as a wife. In fact, some of them believe that much of their storyline is just drama by the producers. Meanwhile, others think they just want to start an OnlyFans to generate income. Of course, if Courtney can’t get a transfer, their plans might end up on hold indefinitely.

On Reddit, an OP suggested, “I realized their whole arc was a push for an OnlyFans or getting Courtnee more sugar daddies or SOMETHING. There was not one genuine thing in their entire storyline—from the sex toys to the fights. It was all setting her up to be a ‘brat’ that needs to be ‘punished.'”

In the comments section, not everyone agreed, and some of them simply slammed Courtney as lacking something. A commenter called them both “morons,” and another person noted, “Like Deep Throat said about Watergate, “These are not very bright people, and things got out of hand.”
