This week, new information about the Tesla that David Anthony Burke, a.k.a. D4vd, owned arrived, and it revealed some interesting footage of the last time someone might have driven the car. Unearthed by a private investigator, it’s unclear why the police investigators haven’t mentioned it following the discovery of the remains of teen, Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
The New Video Footage
On Friday night, Ashleigh Banfield discussed the news on NewsNation. The journalist opened by reminding everyone that the teen was found in a decomposed state after the Tesla was abandoned.

Then she said:
Somebody put a dead, or soon to be dead, teenage runaway in the trunk of her boyfriend’s Tesla and ditched that Tesla on an upscale street in Hollywood Hills. Weeks later, that Tesla with the rotting corpse inside was ticketed and towed away.
Talking about video footage captured by the person who rented out the home where D4vd was staying in California, she noted that the person had hired Private Investigator Steve Fisher. Allegedly, the camera footage captured the last known time that the Tesla was driven, and it revealed the person who drove it.
“That somebody may or may not have had a hand in the runaway’s death,” she said, adding, “but my money is on yes.” So, she wondered why that potentially identifiable person hadn’t been named to the public or the media.
Before introducing Steve to the conversation, Ashleigh noted, “LA police are not talking about this or anything else in the Celeste death investigation.” For now, why that is, remains a deep mystery, as well.
Steve’s Take On It
Asked how “certain” he felt that it was the “last time it drove and ended up at the spot where it was abandoned, likely with that body inside,” Steve couldn’t confirm that 100 percent. However, he knew that after that, “they left town.” He had seen it driven to the abandonment spot, so he felt fairly confident that it was.
Next, Ashleigh talked about some of the “weird” issues surrounding the true crime case. Before discussing the driver seen in the footage, one of those weird points arrived, and Banfield noted, “There was an air freshener that was found in the car…” So, she asked, “Was that air freshener also hanging from the rearview mirror when it drove off from David’s house?”
Apparently it wasn’t, but Fisher did note that the “window was three-quarters of the way down,” which seemed “odd,” given the temperature factor. Additionally, it was “a very short drive.” Perhaps, that, and the air freshener, might have been used to mask the stench of a decaying body, he inferred.
When & Who Was Seen?
Confirming the date of the car being driven, Steve noted it was July 29. However, he couldn’t go much deeper into the identification of the person with David’s Tesla because of the law. However, he noted that the same person had been seen at the house a day prior to that, wearing the “same clothes.” Plus, he talked about how the windshield had been cleaned as the car looked dusty.
As they got quite close to the camera, the race of the person was identifiable. However, he couldn’t tell Banfield who the person was, because that comes under the jurisdiction of the LAPD, and he doesn’t want to compromise any investigation.
A Sudden Ending
Unfortunately, that’s where the interview suddenly ended.
In the comments section, one viewer wrote, “Either LAPD are EXTREMELY bad at their jobs, or they know something that they don’t want us knowing.”
Here are a few more reactions:
- Soon we will know who it was. At this point it still seems David knew she was in there before car was moved, but soon they will tell us more with out interfering with the case!
- Almost sounds like she OD’d and a friend of D4vd did the dirty work. Definitely needs to be looked into.
- They know. Way to much speculating out here but justice is coming.
Hopefully, more information will soon arrive. When it does, we’ll be sure to let you know, so keep on following us for more true crime news and updates.
