The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers document that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is attempting to triangulate. He wants Jill Abbott Atkinson (Jess Walton) to accept his offer to become a silent partner in Chancellor-Winters, which would keep Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) in the fold.

If the Moustache can convince Jill to endorse his plan, Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) may not realize his goal. Victor’s infusion of cash, if accepted, could persuade Devon to stay at CW. Victor thinks that means Katherine Chancellor’s (Jeanne Cooper) grandson would not be inclined to buy McCall Unlimited.

Devon could learn about Victor’s offer and decide to stay with CW. That assumes he can get past the harsh personal attacks Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) leveled against him.

Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) tapped Amanda to represent CW in the arbitration hearing because she was the merged company’s lead attorney. But Lily also wanted Amanda to rattle Devon.

James’ character was shaken by the hearing’s emotional brutality. He did not anticipate the weight of it. The after-effects might make him take the safety net option even if Victor becomes a silent partner and the initial public offering does not happen.

Devon has another road he could take. What Lily and Jill see as stubbornness; Devon presents as morality.

Victor claimed to agree with Devon as part of his pitch to Jill. But if Jill opts not to go with the IPO and wants to take Victor’s money, then Devon’s okay would be needed. So, what happens if Devon rejects that plan as well?

There are various paths Devon could take since he feels Lily crossed a betrayal threshold. One of them would be to oppose Victor’s offer.

Tucker admitted he did not know how to be a father to Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson). She sensed the changes he made were real. But Tucker needed some guidance.

Ashley’s plan, to buy his outstanding debt and use that to nudge him into partnering with Devon, would work. She believes in Tucker and Devon.

Victor believes in Victor. Jill cares about her family but not the Newman family, unless there is profit in the deal.

Devon cares about family legacy. Lily does too. Hopefully, all the events listed above help them to go beyond business on Y&R.
