Diane believes she confirmed that Phyllis and Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) are working together. But later, at the Abbott mansion, Diane did not press Phyllis on her odd appearance.
Phyllis and Jeremy are conspiring on a plan to set Diane up. Phyllis believes Jeremy’s plan is brilliant, with viewers not being told the details of the setup.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Nikki Newman Brushes Jeremy Stark Off
According to The Young and the Restless spoilers, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) rejected Jeremy’s attempt to find common ground with her. Hyde’s character said he was familiar with Nikki’s beginnings, which is another dialogue reference to Y&R’s fiftieth-anniversary celebration that is about to play out in the form of a GC Bicentennial masquerade ball.
Jeremy tried a pitch with Nikki similar to the one he successfully used with Phyllis. The difference is that Phyllis is consumed with a get-Diane mentality, and Nikki is insulated by her Newman aura.
Plus, Nikki has exhibited the mental strength to overcome what Diane did to her. Diane’s murder hoax was far worse than taking Jack from Phyllis.
Y&R Spoilers – Jeremy Stark Makes Progress And Tries For More
Jeremy tried to see if Phyllis was interested in more than a business partnership. She smartly rebuked him while also offering a purposeful compliment.
Phyllis knows that Jeremy is dangerous. However, she also realizes he sees her as useful.
The goal is to bring Diane down in a way that goes far beyond the pain she has injected into their lives. Jeremy was imprisoned twice because of Diane, although the first long-term stay was fully justified.
Phyllis feels Diane cost her Jack and created tensions with her children. She is partially right on the first point and can only blame herself for being at odds with Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) and Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei).
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Diane Jenkins Unprepared For Takedown
Jeremy promised Nikki he would make an impact at the masquerade ball. That was a wink to the viewers, with the audience now knowing major drama will drop at that historic event.
Diane believes her engagement to Jack and statements to Phyllis and Jeremy at the Grand Phoenix are enough to key them at bay. But Jack’s fiance does not realize her enemies are carefully plotting.
It is always a mistake to underestimate one’s opponents in GC. That has been true since this iconic steamer debuted in March 1973. Diane may soon learn that the same soapy principle holds fifty years later on Y&R.
