Royal Family News says that this is a defeat that Samantha Markle probably didn’t see coming at all. There’s a new report that suggests Meghan Markle’s younger sister is dealing with quite a big blow as a judge has tossed out her defamation case against the Duchess of Sussex. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
Royal Family News: Samantha Markle’s Defamation Case Against Meghan Markle Gets Tossed By The Judge
As many royal fans probably already know, Samantha’s case against Meghan was trying to prove that she has made “false and malicious” statements about her as well as about her own personal life, too. Samantha was also looking forward for her day in court, as she wanted to ask both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle about some of the claims they made suggesting that the royal family was racist back in 2021. Thankfully, none of that ever happened.
According to new reports, U.S. District Judge Charlene Edwards Honeywell tossed out Samantha’s case. Apparently, Samantha was really upset that Meghan suggested that she felt like an only child growing up. Judge Honeywell says that’s not enough for the court case to move forward.
A statement from the court even said: “As a reasonable listener would understand it, Defendant merely expresses an opinion about her childhood and her relationship with her half-siblings. Thus, the Court finds that Defendant’s statement is not objectively verifiable or subject to empirical proof…. Because the statement is not ‘capable of being proved false, it is protected from a defamation action.’”

The ruling continued, “A reasonable listener would not think that Defendant was suggesting that she has no half-siblings, that Plaintiff does not actually exist, or that Plaintiff is not related to her.”
The claims were dismissed without prejudice. That said, there’s still a chance that Samantha could file an amended complaint within 14 days of the order. So far she has not made any comments about the matter.
