Return To Amish: Fans Think Maureen Byler Is Faking Lifestyle

Return To AmishReturn To Amish spoilers, news, and updates tease that some fans think that Maureen Byler is faking her lifestyle for the sake of the show. Is she pretending to be something to gain more viewers?

Fans may recall that Byler joined the show in season 6. She used to be a schoolteacher in her Amis community. Byler, grandma Ada’s granddaughter, was curious to see what life was like outside the community. So, she took the opportunity when her grandma went to Florida.

Byler and her best friend, Rosanna Miller went there to meet her. The three met with Sabrina Burkholder, Jeremiah and Carmela Raber, and Jethro Nolt. The latter and Maureen grew closer and they ended up getting engaged by the end of the season.

Byler is set to return to the current season but fans think that she’s hiding something. Some think that she’s been living outside the Amish community far longer than she initially claimed.

As previously stated, Byler joined the show in season 6, which was filmed when the pandemic began in 2020. However, the Reddit thread claimed that she’s been out of the Amish community since 2018, at least. Some uncovered photos from her Facebook page where she can be seen wearing English clothes and hanging out with boys in 2018.

“More proof Maureen was English way before return to Amish,” the Reddit thread started.

“WOW. I keep trying to think of ways to explain this away, but it doesn’t add up! The production has to be the ones making them still wear the dresses and bonnets,” one commenter wrote.

“I’m pretty sure this is what production has been doing this entire time… more fraud by TLC… still am loving the show although I realize how fake it is,” another person chimed in.
