Netflix The Night Agent Renewed For Season 2

Fans of the hit FBI-related thriller series The Night Agent will get a season 2 of the highly popular Netflix series.

The hit series, The Night Agent only started streaming on Netflix around a week ago. However, due to the way the show has performed on Netflix, it is already getting a second season. Normally, the streamer takes around four to five weeks to decide on a new season, but this one has already been renewed. Read on to find out what we know so far about season 2 of The Night Agent on Netflix.

Netflix renews The Night Agent for season 2

When The Night Agent first started streaming it took Netflix by storm. Now, after watching the show on Netflix, fans are truly hoping for more. Meanwhile, despite the fact that the streamer normally takes a few weeks to decide to renew a hit show, this one turned out to be a no-brainer and has already been renewed for a second season.

The news hit the headlines on Wednesday, making it among the fastest renewals, just six days after dropping on Netflix. Meanwhile, The Night Agent is already the third biggest debut in the streamer’s history, only lagging behind last year’s Wednesday and Dahmer.

When will season 2 drop on Netflix?

So far, no release date has been announced for the second season of The Night Agent. However, Netflix series normally release on a year or year-and-a-half basis. As noted by TV Line, if this is the case, fans can expect season 2 in the spring or summer of 2024.

One strange thing about the show getting a second season is that it is based on a book by Matthew Quirk. Season 1 covered that storyline, and there is no second book. It seems to continue the series, it would have to be written from scratch. It is also unclear whether Quirk would be collaborating with The Night Agent’s showrunners.

What we do know comes from creator Shawn Ryan, who said that the last week “has been a whirlwind” after they were finally able to share The Night Agent with the world. He added:
