Finally, the WGA strike is over and our favorite shows are gearing up to return. Among them are “NCIS,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” and “Criminal Minds: Evolution.” Here’s what we know about the shows with newly returned writers’ room.
List of Hit TV Series Reopening Their Writers’ Room This Week
First of all, let’s take a moment to celebrate that writers were able to negotiate a fair deal that immensely benefits their labor union.
And then we can celebrate that it’s only a matter of time before we solve more crimes with “NCIS” or follow the lives of novel patients with “Grey’s Anatomy.”
“Grey’s Anatomy,” “Criminal Minds: Evolution” and Fox-turned-ABC drama “9-1-1” have already reopened their writer’s room, with Fox’s animation trio “Family Guy,” “The Simpsons,” and “Bob’s Burgers” following suit.
The return, as anyone can imagine, can’t come any sooner because fans are tired of reruns.
Even though, if we’re being honest, many of us did discover new shows to binge watch or we just found joy in reliving our favorite old ones. However, just before we started getting bored, the promise of something new is making us hopeful again.
The writers room for “NCIS,” which is entering its 21st season, will return next week. It is expected that a fitting tribute for actor David McCallum, who played Ducky on the long-running crime drama, will be written into the first few episodes of the upcoming season.
Other CBS series, including “Fire Country,” “Ghosts,” and “The Neighborhood” will be opening their writers room this week.
Showtime’s hit series “Yellowjackets” is set to reopen its writers room on Wednesday after the WGA strike announcement shut down writing on season 3, a day after work on it started.
All that we need right now is for the actors strike to end and we’ll be flooded with a host of new shows as early as the beginning of 2024. I’m especially looking forward to Zendaya’s “The Challengers” release.
