Josh Duggar Has New Legal Strategy To Fight His 12-Year Prison Sentence

Duggar family news and updates tease Josh Duggar and his legal team have a new strategy to fight his 12-year prison sentence. Whether or not the court will acknowledge his argument is still left to be seen.

Josh Duggar, the used car salesman convicted on federal child pornography charges and sentenced to twelve years in prison, has launched a daring legal appeal. His defense team is now arguing that someone else could have been responsible for his crimes – an ‘alternative perpetrator’ – as part of their effort to overturn the guilty verdict.

Josh Duggar’s – New Legal Strategy

Josh’s new legal move involves a former employee of the Duggar’s car lot. They’re arguing that there’s an “alternative perpetrator” to the crime.

“If permitted to inquire, Duggar would have established Williams: worked at the business; had familiarity with the computer and its software; engaged in eBay sales and utilized the computer to print labels; sent a text message on May 7, 2019, offering to watch the business that week; spent the night one mile from the business on May 9, 2019; and concealed all metadata on documents provided to the Government in an attempt to establish he was not present,” as per the defense brief written by Duggar’s attorney Justin K. Gelfand.

However, there was no child pornography downloaded during the days when Caleb was in the Duggar’s car lot.

Josh Duggar  – Gets Guilty Verdict

On April 28, 2021, former reality star Josh Duggar was arrested and taken into custody by Arkansas sheriffs. The following day he was handed to the U.S Marshals, who charged him with possession of child pornography – although his plea remained “not guilty.”

After a bond hearing, Duggar’s bid for freedom succeeded, and he regained his liberty under strict conditions that prohibited him from contact with minors. Despite this restriction, however; he still had unlimited access to his kids, but his wife Anna was required to be present during the visits.

Josh was on trial last year and was found guilty by the jury on two charges of receiving and possessing child pornography. He’ll be in prison at Seagoville Federal Correctional Institution in Texas until August 22, 2032.

Prosecutors determined that the materials discovered on his work computer, which was heavily encrypted, warranted a strong punishment. The videos and photos showed sexual abuse against children as young as toddlers
