Joseph Duggar’s In-Laws Take a Stand – Kendra’s Parents Back Alleged Victim Amid Criminal Case

Joseph Duggar is currently facing a lawsuit for molesting a child, alongside charges of endangering the welfare of a minor and false imprisonment. He faces the latter two with his wife Kendra Duggar.

The police arrested and booked Kendra when, upon searching the couple’s property, they discovered that the parents of four had installed locks on the outer part of their children’s doors.

Per their lawyer, they mean to plead guilty to the charges. Though Joseph continues to deny the sexual assault charges.

Here’s everything we know about the developing case and Kendra Duggar’s parents’ involvement in it.

5 Key Takeaways

  • Joseph Duggar faces criminal charges in Florida stemming from allegations involving a girl who was 9 at the time; he pleaded not guilty.
  • Joseph and Kendra separately faced Arkansas child-endangerment and false-imprisonment charges after investigators found exterior locks on their children’s bedroom doors.
  • The Arkansas case was placed under advisement for a year, with charges potentially being dropped if conditions are met.
  • Paul and Christina Caldwell publicly said they were “troubled and heartbroken” by the allegations and expressed support for the alleged victim.
  • The Caldwells were scheduled to be questioned under oath as part of discovery in Joseph’s Florida case.

Kendra Duggar’s Parents Reveal Who They Stand With In Joseph Duggar’s Sexual Abuse Case

Joseph Duggar appears to have taken after his big brother Josh Duggar, who is currently serving time for possessing child pornography.

His in-laws Paul and Christina Caldwell are no fans of his alleged fetish, just as cousin Amy Duggar King isn’t. In fact, they hate his handiwork so much they’ve chosen to stand firmly with the victim and his family, even if it means being estranged from their daughter.

Per US Weekly, the couple have been open about being close to the family of the young victim. “Christina has told other members of their church, but she is not sure she wants to talk about it so publicly. That is what she is struggling with, but she is not hiding it,” a source told the Outlet.

The couple has also publicly sent goodwill messages to the victim and her family, insisting that they stand firmly with them.

In this way, Paul and Christina Caldwell have been registered as witnesses to be deposed and interviewed as part of the legal proceedings and discovery in Joseph’s ongoing child molestation case. They are two of five witnesses representing the minor in the case.

“According to the investigation, the incidents took place in 2020 while the family was staying at a residence on Danny Drive. The victim reported Duggar repeatedly asked her to sit on his lap. As the vacation continued, he also asked her to sit next to him on a couch and covered them with a blanket. During this time, Duggar manipulated the victim’s underwear and grazed her genitals. Duggar would also continue to rub his hands on her thighs,” the Bay County Sheriff’s Office shared on their Facebook page.
