The Young And The Restless ‘Spoilers –  Daniel Romalotti Has A GC Place

After years of barely hearing his name mentioned, it seems Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) remembers she has a grown son named Daniel and she is off visiting him, apparently while also visiting the granddaughter she also never mentions. It’s been so long since Daniel has been seen or heard from it was a shock when Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) mentioned that her mother was with her brother.

However, perhaps her brother should be living in Genoa City where he grew up and where he impacted storylines for years. Michael Graziadei played Daniel for nearly a decade, taking him from teenager to young man and father, but the last time anyone saw him was a one-off appearance in 2016.

As longtime fans remember, Daniel is the son Phyllis tried to pass off as Danny Romalotti’s son, breaking up his marriage to Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell). Danny still raised Daniel although he eventually learned he was not his biological father and his presence on the soap is sorely missed.

If Daniel hadn’t gotten drunk one night in his teens, then Cassie Newman (Camryn Grimes) would have never gotten behind the wheel of his car without a license and would still be alive today. It was Cassie’s death that ended up bringing Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Phyllis together, resulting in the affair that produced Summer. Of course, Summer’s paternity was in doubt for years, but she eventually did turn out to be Nick’s and not Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) on The Young and the Restless.

There is no reason why a character with so much importance should be living out of town as if he barely exists. There is plenty of story to tell for Daniel and wouldn’t it be something to see Phyllis with an adolescent granddaughter who could truly give her a run for her money. If Y&R were to bring back Daniel, it could revitalize the show’s young adult scene. And he would be the older of the young adults on the soap and possibly get them in a whole lot of trouble.
