Royal Family News: Mike Tindall Reveals Kate Middleton Rugby Skills Are Amazing
British royal family news shows that Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, was recently named as the royal patron of the English Rugby Football League and Rugby Football Union. Kate is an avid athlete and after the announcement she gamely showed up for a rugby session at Twickenham Stadium. It just so happens that her cousin in law Mike Tindall is a former professional rugby player which means he has let his feelings known on her appointment. Mike is married to Zara Tindall, the daughter of Princess Anne and a cousin of Kate’s husband, Prince William.

After Kate Middleton’s impromptu rugby performance he talked about her skills with his cohosts on The Good, The Bad & The Rugby podcast, Alex Payne and James Haskell. When Alex joked to the men that Kate, “looks a more natural rugby player than both of you put together,” Mike agreed!
Mike joked that he texted, “Ellis [Genge] and said, ‘Mate, please tell me anything she messed up on,’ so I could sort of… family WhatsApp group, get to her. And he said, ‘No, she was actually pretty good, and she was really good at kicking,’ and I was like [sigh]. But she has this competitive nature.”

Kate Middleton was obviously the right choice for the patronage of the UK’s Rugby Football Union and Rugby Football League and no doubt there will be plenty for her and Mike to talk about at family gatherings.
James stated on the podcast, “When she was announced, I thought amazing because we know she obviously likes her rugby. But the way she caught the ball, the way she jumped in the line-out, the little outside break, she was utterly fantastic, she was really, really, really good. And so I was like amazing, and dual sport, what an amazing ambassador.”

According to People, “Kate Middleton, 40, even participated in a line-out play, where a player can be hoisted in the air by their teammates to receive a ball after it goes out of the field of play.”
Of this, Mike said, “Just imagine, anyone who’s ever tried it, getting thrown up in the line-out if you’ve never done it before is not easy because normally, you’ll kick the prop in either the nuts or the face as he’s lifting you, and she just looked effortless.” Indeed.
