GH Spoilers: Britt Questions Cody’s Intentions When He Admits Mac Is His Dad

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveals Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) is having a hard time hanging around Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) and lying by omission constantly. She was the one person who really encouraged him to go out on a limb and find out whether Mac Scorpio (John J. York) was his father. She was there when he got the test results, and she didn’t bat an eye when he delivered his big lie and told everyone Mac was not his dad. He knows Britt doesn’t take kindly to liars or people playing her. When he finds out she’s a woman with a death sentence, he’s going to go the extra mile and tell Britt the truth, trusting that she’ll keep it to herself. Will she?

Britt is going to let Cody back into her life, and when she does so, she’ll be hoping she isn’t going to end up regretting it. So far, Cody has burned her a few times. He will want to be transparent about his intentions from the start before he risks her finding out from someone else — like Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) — and losing her permanently. Little does he know, he’s going to anyway. When Cody tells Britt that Mac is actually his father and he lied about the results of the paternity test, she’s going to be confused about why he would do such a thing. The reality of his intention will fall into place pretty quickly though, and he will come clean about wanting to get his grubby paws on Leopold Taub’s (Chip Lucia) necklace by pretending to be his son. Britt is going to be ticked that he lied to her, and even angrier that he was targeting her as a pivotal part of his con when he first came to Port Charles.

Britt’s response is going to surprise Cody — and herself. Britt feels like she’s living on borrowed time now, and she doesn’t want to waste a minute of it. Arguing with Cody over what has already been done seems like a waste of her precious ticking time. Besides, Britt has a past of her own. She isn’t in a position to judge Cody for being willing to forsake a few people in pursuit of a fortune. There was a time when she would have done the same thing.

While Britt might not be judging Cody for the choice he made, she will understand his current plight. He’s not going to get that necklace now that it’s been destroyed, so he’s really wishing he hadn’t thrown his father away like he meant nothing — especially seeing as how Mac is such a great guy, reportedly. Britt is going to push Cody to come clean with Mac, which will sound like an impossible task up front because Cody has quite the ego he’s trying to protect. Will Britt help him along the way?
